how often do you get out of NJ? not legal in CT, MD (i think) and either W.VA or VA... one or two others, as well.

BTW, radar detectors are illegal in tractor trailers in ALL states. it was lose the radar detectors or lose the CB radios; they chose to keep the radios.

they are legal to have but not legal to use in certain states. cops can't confiscate them just because you have one, they have to prove you were using it.

Good luck getting away from that one. It'll drive through a building to catch you.

truck == pickup? or truck as in tractor trailer?

how long ago did this happen? was he charged $350 in addition to the fine (assuming he was written for something else)?

Yeah, I was told they have to be out of view in VA. An old ex and I took a weekend trip to VA, he had to put it in the glove box.

I have an older version of the AAA motor laws book (has many laws for all states), I think that's where I read it.

Yea, no kidding. A friend who's a cop in the next town told me it was 'donated' by one of the residents.

Like some rich ass bought the town an H1. I think they painted it white and tinted the windows.

Yeah, but by the time it got through the building you'd be in another county. I can only think of a few cop vehicles that I'd even contemplate running from and the H1 would be one of em if it hadn't gotten a picture of my plate. The other would be a bike cop. I have this story about a bike cop that would make you laugh your head off. Short story was 2 cops go speeding down a hill, the 3rd is close behind but tries to jump onto the sidewalk at the bottom of the hill... total wipe out as in head over heels and his buddies had to come back and help him up onto his bike. My friends and I couldn't hold back and just busted out laughing. I felt pretty bad but he was a cop, it comes with the paycheck!
