My second desktop PC (PIII 700ish, 512 mb ram, FX 5200) i was going to use it for Unix/Linux (collectively known as *nix), but I'll have to install Windows XP in order to setup a dedicated game server.

I'm thinking that my machine won't like being a dedicated server for anything too intense. Works fine for Ghost Recon, UT, etc though....

I know, but I'm having trouble with *nix too. Keep getting kernal panics when attempting to install. I'll talk to you about that later though....

No problem man. I know the key works, I installed it on a machine I built for a friend a while ago. He ended up going back to 2k due to lack of driver support at the time. Things should be a lot better now though.

for your laptop doom3 most likely no, ut/ut2004 most likely...
you could definately run 2004 on your dads computer (if you ever wipe it clean) doom3 is a possibility, prolly at low quality...
they depend alot on video ram too (how much ram there is on your video card, 128mb should be decent for doom3 and pretty good for meduium settings in ut2004)

I haven't installed it either. If you read Kasey's post you will understand that...
I'm not exactly in the proper state necissary to dl and install programs. Although, I want to thank all those years of keyboarding because no matter how bad I get I rarely ever spell anything wrong, improper diction on the otherhand.
