a few weeks after she gave al super-mod status, she gave up and handed off full admin access to justin and i.

how much are the dues over there?
discounts are offered as part of sponsorship normally, so you really shouldn't be paying for that. board access i don't understand how diffrerent clubs charge for, there are so many free alternatives that i could never imagine paying to post somewhere. i have donated and bought tshirts and stuff before, but never paid membership dues.
free food at club activities sounds cool. we will work on that for a few meets next year

It's $25/year membership. It's not that crazy of an amount, and you get some free stuff. For instance, I go to Fudds all the time and get a nice discount! haha But you get free acess into events too. Not to mention I've made a lot of pretty good friends there.

However, I am on this board more often for some reason...

The short version:

A number of people on this board, who signed on shortly after this board was launched, became... disgruntled with the owner of a previous NJ f-body board. As a result, NJFBOA was born out of a drunken stupor-induced rebellion. Being nice people, the new NJFBOA group reached out to anyone and everyone who had f-bodies, or friends of people with f-bodies, other clubs, auto-related companies and enthusiast to make themselves known.

Today... well, you can read Tim's post again.

That's the short, short version.

EDIT: And this is on topic unlike the Rustang club discussion.

the whole story would create the longest single post in our club history by several pages.
the short version is that the person running the old club had some family/personal problems that took up much of her time. this left the board somewhat neglected and disorganized in the eyes of many members.
justin and i talked several times about starting a club to run things the way we thought they should be, it all came to a boiling point one night when justin and i were drinking and she took offense to some statements made on the board.
drunken timmy threw a credit card at drunken justin and said "get us an f'ing web site". along with little g we came up with a club name and minutes later the NJFBOA was born. that was approaching midnight on july 31, 2004
we kept it on the DL for a while as we got the forums started and had a few invited guests giving feedback on what the site should have and what the club should offer. by august 10th we had everything sorted out, and around midnight we went public with the new club/site.
then cryz heard about it, got really pissed, and started trying to mess with us. her rage only served to promote the more layed back style that we had established and she pretty much lost the war of words with in a few weeks.
the club and site haven't stopped growing since.

And as I recall, she moved to NY which kinda made the point of having a NJ site useless.

Heh....those first few weeks after she came back were interesting.

I still have a few of those saved threads from njfbody that I reread last week for the memories....

I was one of those original members to go to the special Fudds meeting! I still have the first flyer that Tim & Justin ever made to hand out to us! Maybe I should frame it

Jeez that was a long time ago!

Good times I must say, I have met alot of new and very good friends through this site!
