Opened the pic of the 87 GTA interior and set it as my laptop wallpaper.

Yay 3rd Gens!

On a sour note though, with the 3rd gens making it into Barret Jackson, more 3rd gen owners will go off the deep end when it comes time to sell their cars, upping the price. It happened to the fox body Mustangs the past few years.

That's why I'll never take a car to BJ. I'm surprised that car went so low. Last year it would've brought $200K easily. I wonder if it really sold or if the owner bought it back. I won't be selling my JL8 for $162K, that's too low and I'm well over $100K into it already. I think BJ has ruined their own auction and I could see it coming last year.

One 69 COPO Camaro sold for $160K and the other sold for $150K and those look to be really good buys. Both were well restored and supposedly matching #'s with certifications. Prices seem to be 20-25% lower than last year. It seems like the market is saturated or people might have already started investing their money back in the stock market.

445,000 for 70 boss 429
600,000 for last stingray

im suprised at the price of the camaros. i really thought they would be big bucks this year.

The 67s should get more. imo

Prices make no sense to me. This stuff is all over the place. It really seems like it is just boys with too much money in many cases. I don't understand a $5M tag for that cobra - I don't care who owned it. Is it me or does it appear as though Chevys are not commanding as much $$? Fords seemed to be strong. I wonder if the success of the current Mustang impacts that, and if so, if the new Camaro is succesful, will it push Camaro values up.

BJ was sponsored by Ford this year. The blue oval was everywhere and I think there was some definite shill bidding to run up prices. The Boss 302 cars have been undervalued for a while, but to see all these Fords suddenly jump 100-200% tells you something isn't right. And all the GM and Mopar stuff was down 25-50%. I think BJ just lost a lot of sellers after this auction. Forcing people to sell at no reserve and then even if you buy back your own car because it wasn't bid high enough you end up paying 18-20% commission.

The '67s should totally fetch more $. I couldn't really understand the 2 69's getting that amount, even though they are a pair.

It seems like Mopar stuff gets top dollar, then Ford, and then Chevy on a car-by car basis. But as far as value for a total line (like all '70 models, etc) I think Chevy wins.

No, even the Mopars were way down compared to last year. The Hemi Cuda with 78 miles sold for around $1 million last year and it only brought $500K this year! Ouch! Too much bs going on behind the scenes and I think a lot of the buyers know it now. There's a lot of bogus paperwork and restamps in the GM cars so that hurts their value. Yenkos and COPOs were bringing $25-300K last year and now they only bring $150-180K. That's a big difference and almost all the Yenkos are know VINs so there's no good reason for the drop in price unless the quality of the cars is way down. But in the end, you can't use auctions as a gauge for prices. Every auction seems to allow the owner to bid on his own car so that creates bogus perceived value. I heard that most of the Vettes that went across were not #'s matching so that explains the lower prices on them. I love both my old Camaros and this makes me more tempted just to keep them since I know what they truly are.

I don't get the pair thing. Cars don't come in pairs. They aren't sox. At least the 67 Z28s were sequential # cars (IIRC)
