NEED HELP MAS RAPIDO!!!

ok so, entire day gone, winch broken, 2 tow straps broken, sunroof exploded on way home, and i got a flat in the trail and ruined my rim. my friends dad who pulled me out has another rim thats the same that hell give me so thats ok, imma put plexiglass in the sunroof and im just super pissed but its out, im home and i feel like **** haha. thank all of u for the offers but i was too furious to come back online lol.

Gotta pay to play man.....next time don't take it through deep mud or other more extreme terrain without proper spares/support.

im assuming a rock cuz i heard a clunk and then like sizzling(or obviously glass cracking) and it just fell in. i had a spare but nowhere to jack the truck up....the way i took looked the best and it didnt look like much mud but i was wrong. when mudding, do not follow me.

my friend has a stock jeep cherokee and i went first cuz mines a v8 and its got more ground clearance. cj, pm me ur number cuz if i had it i prolly woulda called u. i was in branchville where i used to ride my quads.

just wondering what tires you have on that thing? I know when I got my truck I had the stock tires on it and they were nothing but street tires. Its always the paths that look the least dangerous that actually have the problems. I sunk my truck (with the tires and the lift) in a sink hole in wharton state park that looked like solid ground and actually had a wrangler pass over it with no problems, but my truck weighing in at a hefty 6500 lbs broke the top layer and i was sunk to the bumper, and couldnt get any traction. I got out after a tow strap to another truck, but had any of the other trucks gone in there with a shorter wheel base they woulda been screwed.

What the hell have you added to your truck to make it weigh 6500 lbs.?

Its a 2500 Ram with dana 60s front and rear and 35 inch tires that weigh 80 lbs each. That was what the scale at Etown told me when I was heading down the return lane to pick up my buddys car who wouldnt run. Maybe it was off I know its over the 5800 lbs curb weight. Add a tool box that was in it with tools, me, the extra weight in tires, and who knows what else was in it at the time put me up there.

I was just curious because that's like 1150 to 1250 lbs over as delivered weight depending on short or long bed. I thought you had 2 fully dressed smallblocks in the bed while muddin'.

haha yeah well Im thinking back to what was in the truck then because I knew I had alot in there. I had the bed box full of tools, a big jack, a few jack stands, Me and my buddies girlfriend. However the only thing that wasnt in the truck when I sunk it was my buddies girlfriend, so that made no difference. Not to mention the whole underside is probably weighed down by about a good 1500 lbs of mud at all times damn living out in the sticks!!!

my trans seems fine and me n my friends maybe stupid but we do weird thing when we r bored, we made trench things and drained as much water as we could when it was in the mud. maybe it was smart or maybe we r just retards and had nothing to do lol

I dunno how deep it got, but if any parts of the driveline were actually under (including the differential breathers), make sure you change the fluid ASAP. A few quarts of fluid is far cheaper than replacing hard parts.

Anytime you get seriously into the gooey stuff (Mud, people...I'm talking about mud here...although cleanliness IS next to Godliness with the other gooey stuff), it's time for some equally serious cleanup. Take some pics of the truck for later laughs. Then, get yourself to a powerwash and spend some quality time getting all the mud you can off the undercarriage, axles, wheelwells, wheels...everywhere. Expect to spend a lot of time (And if you don't have your own powerwasher, a lot of quarters) doing this; you want to be thorough. Then, like listed above, change ALL fluids. Oil and filter, transmission, transfer case (ATF will usually do) and differentials. Finally, after the powerwashing, the rig's gonna be screaming for grease. Hit all of the U joints, CV joints, steering parts, anything that moves and needs grease.

Then, when you're done with all of that work, think about how soon you want to go play in the slop again.

Been there, done that. Did you know that a replacement transmission for a 2001 Jeep Wrangler runs about $2300? I do. That's why I stay out of the muck as much as I can!

If he wants to leave the body muddy, that's fine, but make sure the underside gets washed off and regreased, or you're gonna have lots of premature wear to deal with.

If you wanna play in the mud, you have to be prepared to deal with the follow-up stuff.

Best/easiest way to clean the bottom is to just stick a sprinkler under it for a few hours. Just more it around every so often so you know that it's getting the whole underside of the truck.

Yeah, those Dodge pickups look like they could handle 35s with virtually no lift! I like the sprinkler idea; gonna try that one.

Oh yea, it works great...especially when the mud is still fresh. Great way to knock at least most of the mud off pretty easily.
