Bars are demographically in the area's they are because people will go to them. there's no one trying to keep anyone down, its people making their own future.

Fixed, lol
Some do, but I agree it is probably rare. But I grew up at the beach where big $$ bars have existed forever. BA, Leggets, Kellys, etc....

I don't know what kind of fancy corporations you think most bars are, but yes, most owners do in fact work in and spend a lot of time in bars. If it is a chain family restaurant/bar type place I would say differently, but the average small business owner is still directly involved in the business. Most bars are independent and certainly require direct owner supervision.

maybe because a liqueur license takes an 80k property in a bad neighborhood, and makes it worth at least 5 times as much to the city? its not because they want poor people to drink dumb ass its because they want businesses instead of boarded up crack dens
what exactly do you really know about "ghettos"?

so let me get this straight, because there are bars in the "ghetto" the financially less fortunate have to take up drinking? my first year in the work force I made about 21K take home, that sure isnt upper class, hell, it isn't even middle class! so did I park myself at the bar everyday? no, I didn't. would you like to know why I didn't? of course you do.
IT'S BECAUSE MY PARENTS TAUGHT ME BETTER!
Holy crap, what a concept! taking responsibility for one's actions, trying everyday to better yourself and those around you, knowing that life isn't fair but not letting that slow you down. these are the things people need to embrace. don't drag yourself into a life of self pity. don't project blame onto others when it should be placed solely on your own shoulders.
so please dont try to make it seem like "the man" is trying to keep poor people poor. the people stuck in slums are there because of choices they have made themselves.

exactly what he said. i would NEVER contemplate suicide. i never go down without a hell of a fight. my parents taught me to be self reliant, if i **** up, oh well, i learn from my mistakes and move on. i dont sit around crying because i lost money, ill find out why and FIX IT. i will NEVER kill myself over something so stupid.
BTW Mike which facility do you work at? one of the ones on Ft. Dix?
