Since I know I don't have that Brake vacuum line hooked up I am thinking maybe I will hook it up when I get home and try it with starter fluid. It sounds like if that is not hooked up and everything else is perfect then it won't run. If it runs or fires I'll know I got it and will just have the mechanic tune the timing and get the old gas cleaned out. Naturally, I still need to get the exhaust done on it and tires for it.

*** UPDATE ***

I have since graduated from College and have arrived home, I start working at Netcong Auto Restorations on Monday, I did do some work on the car. It turns out the brake booster line was hooked up. I checked for spark and with the plug laying near the tower bracing for the suspension I watched for spark while I cranked the car. It sparked like crazy. So I have spark, it seems it is narrowed, to the timing, the bad gas and the junkyard battery. I'll replace and fix one at a time as I get the time and the money to do so. It might be running for the Nationals in August, providing any major disasters, but it should definetely be at Hershey for the Fall Meet.

Not working at Netcong anymore, because my boss ran out of money, but since getting laid off I've been working on the bird. Yesterday afternoon if finally came to life. Turned out to be timing, choke, and the wires at the starter were reversed, so the power was going thorough another set of wires before getting to the starter. Needs some tuning but at least its running, has a high idle but I left some vacuum lines off, some of those should fix it. Now what is the general opinion on running with wide open mufflers? I need to get it to Muffler Dan's five miles from my house. I'm thinking i should be ok.
