No.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance
You've never seen an oil like this before. Mobil 1 Extended Performance is a high-endurance motor oil designed for longer service intervals. It is a fully synthetic formulation that helps extend engine life, reduce oil breakdown and minimize engine wear -- all while helping to keep your engine clean. Improvements that add up to exceptional protection for 15,000 miles. Guaranteed.

Any Mobil oil that is labeled as Mobil 1 ..... is a full synthetic (unless there has been a recent change).

I change it on my Solstice as often as the car tells me to which is around 8-10K miles. The only place you can really find it is at Pepboys and I think it's around 8-9 bucks a quart. It's probably cheaper if you buy it online.

I switched from Mobil 1 to Valvoline full synthetic (Synpower). I use Pennzoil platinum in the daily drivers, but I'm switching to Valvoline for everything. I fell the Valvoline is the better product and is the best bang for the buck.

I've run Valvoline Synpower, Pennzoil Platnium, and am currently using Q horsepower. I will say that the Pennzoil Platnium is the best oil I have used so far. The Q horsepower is holding up well for having 50 passes on it this year and the oil pressure still hovers around 40 at hot idle. I'm switching to Castrol on the next oil change with the K&N filter(Advanced Auto special ftw!)

Most if not all "sythetic" oil uses a Group 3 base stock. This includes Pen, Valvoline, and regular Mobil 1.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance uses Group 4 true sythetic base stock. But its about teh same price as AMSOIL. M1EP has the edge as it is sold in larger numbers at larger retail centers.
The "german" castrol sytec oil is a Group 4 sythetic oil as well, and is cheaper then M1EP and AMSOIL but hard to find.
AMSOIL is awesome, no doubt.

Not hard to find at all....amsoil.com. The prices on the website were actually pretty similar to the guy I got them from and hes a amsoil vendor.

i use mobil clean 5000 in the ion...it runs exceptionally well and is awesome especially when the gf decides to run it over the 3k interval
i usually use mobil 1 products in all my fun cars. the green camaro got nothing but m1 5w30 and ran beautiful on it. the trans am i have now came to me with m1 and i made the switch to royal purple 10w30. i gotta say im not liking the royal purple as much as when i had the m1 in it. it was awesome for the first few weeks but found it breaksdown with a lot of hard running. im making the switch to amsoil to try that out.
i hear josh might have some
btw....nothing but ac delco filters

Replace valve seals?
Run regular dino oil, won't leak as much.
