i still have my first car.
1986 Camaro Z28 H-code 305 with 36,000 original miles when i got it in November 1997 a week after my 18th b-day. paid $4,000 for it (my own money, BTW)
now has a 1980 4 bolt main based 383 with 70 Impala SS heads, Torquer 2 intake and cam, Holley 750, Summit HEI, shorty headers, 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust routed where the single used to be, 700r4 trans, 1988 IROC disc brake 3.27 geared posi.
and i still got the original engine, trans, and rear with 50,000 miles in my garage.

My first car was an 86 trans am that i resotred with my dad was a bad ass car. But only a 305 . I sold that after a while and got the camaro driving it only a few months as my daily driver and then got my 92 jeep wrangler that took it's place. Now that camaro just sits in the garage covered for most of the time. I have become very anal about my camaro since i have gotten the jeep.

I'm with you. I bought my 1st car in Jan 87 right before I turned 17. This site makes feel old some days.

my turn:
1992 Camry V6 got it with 151k on the clock and junked it with 154k on the clock. the tranny was slipping when i got it and my neutral drops and off-roading only made it worse. that car was fun as hell. very predictable in all situations. beat a 305 turd gen drag racing down a two lane street once too... yeah so my dad didnt want to put a new tranny in it cause of all the other problems the car had so we bought the camaro i have now which was my first non-hand-me-down car so to speak. i then drove the camry into the ground until it could move no more.

yeah, it was a work truck. I thought it was odd that it had the three speed on the column too.
