I need to post a few times.
1994 Mercury Grand Marquis - 108 (speed limiter. Al and I hit that a few times going to NY)
1988 Camaro Iroc-Z - Somewhere around 105
1984 Olds Cutlass - 84. Starts to shake like a son of a bitch after that
1994 Caprice - somewhere around 125
1991 Trans Am Vert - Somewhere around 140.

Fastest ive ever been was around 160ish.

1991 Mitsubishi Montero - 115mph (slightly downhill )
1983 Datsun 280zx 2+2 - 138mph
1979 Chevy Camaro Z28 - 135mph

For the Datsun I had to use a gear calculator as the speedo only went up to 85mph I hit that speed during a race with my buddy's Benz 280SE where we wanted to find out who had the faster 280. He said he maxed out at 135mph and I was walkin him the whole time so I guess its fairly accurate.

i think some of these times are exagerated unless "stock" includes a tune, because cars come with limiters.

i have had the t/a's speedo buried and stayed in it
and on my bike the speedo read 178 but im not sure of accuracy

I've had the Corvette at 186mph. Autobahn A5 Germany. Slp exhaust, Vararam intake, H/C. New cam and heads in a few months. I wouldn't even try that here in Jersey. Germany's autobahn are unbelievable. Especially around 8 at night when traffic is very thin. I know another guy in our German Corvette club that has me beat 189MPH.

Did you have a chip in it? the 3.4 cars were limited to 122 just like the 3.1s.....

I've had my '91 Lumina up to 122, only once though. Several other trips over 100mph on Rt. 80 back when I was in college.

I had my old Camaro (85 2.8L/A4) up to ~105 one night, racing a friend in his '82 2.8L carb/M4 Camaro

The Jeep has barely seen 85.....

in the old Hawk when i was young and dumb on the parkway southbound late at night heading to the shore. I hit about 145-150 I got a little nervous at 130 and stopped looking down at the speedo, but i know I kept going faster til I felt it was unsafe...

Yep. It's not right.

Speed limiters were set according to OEM tire speed rating.

In my GTP (before the mods) at the Calverton Naval Industrial Weapons Complex I totally pegged the speedo and the HUD read 123 before I saw the end of the runway coming up and started slowing down, I plan on taking my Lightning and a Vette up there this year though.
