Same here with nothing good coming from cartek. Foff667 had some "bad luck" with them, taught himself how to tune, started his own tuning business, and now he works for HP Tuners.

Hope they do something for you if it is found to be their fault, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

yes its a speed density tune !!!

and just to add to post...... just got the valve covers to make sure a valve wasn't stuck open or somethin crazy like that... so definitly the conrods are bent cause i can only rotate engine about 120 degrees and it locks up.

speed density tune bad?
thought was good , cause now the computer reads boost pressure and is able to better map the car as driven.

Lots of bad stories from Cartek. SD should work just as well as MAF tuned. That suks big time. Nothing worse than planning out a build, taking the time to do it and

Yeah, it's a scary moment when you sign that paper. All I could think of was, "So if they **** up my car, I'm SOL?" (not talking about cartek specifically).

Hum the dealer I used to work at wasnt like that. I dont think I would take my car to a place that wouldnt fix it if it was clearly there fault it broke, but then again no one touches my cars except for me.

i think the worst thing is about this whole ordeal, is that i built this car to have the best of both worlds. lots of power w/ all the bells & wistles (p-steerin & a/c etc..) haha. drove like a stock Z under normal operation & then the minute i put my foot in it, it felt like i was steering a friggin rocket ship.
full street trim
fully street legal
a little bass in the hatch
OH OH OH IT WAS SO NICE......... FOR AN HOUR !!!
i actually felt like i was 15 yrs younger and single again. f***me back to reality i guess.

Did you assemble the engine yourself or did they do everything?

they did not build the motor.
and just for everybodies peace of mind, it is a 100% not my fault.
either problem w/ their tune telling injectors to open when key on or bad injectors from f.a.s.t. .
not likely to have all bad injectors so you make the call.

by the way only way engine can get fuel in it is via injector opening or ruptured regulator (checked regulator nothing wrong & no fuel in the vaccuum line.) it is a aeromotive boost refenced reg.

But since they didn't do all of the work they can claim that you messed something ip and are just trying to pass the buck. I would speak with a lawyer asap

so if you tell the injectors to work beyond their supposed safe workload they can stick open? but you have more injector than you need, so how could that be the culprit? if it does end up that it's the tune that's bad, i would want to know about that; since i am still considered a dinosaur (i use a screwdriver to tune my cars).

make sure to post this on LS1tech too. The larger the audience, the better chance you have of getting things done.

i hydrolocked my motor in aug 05.
a gas station had put a diesel mix in my fuel, causing the injectors to stick wide open.
I was spraying raw fuel out my tailpipes, it was that bad.
I replaced #3 injector which i found was wide open constant at key on, then tried starting it, i had missed #1 which had already filled the cylinder.
With the whole crankcase filled with fumes and fuel from washing out the cylinders and all, when it went, it blew out the oil pan and a section of the block...
..could never prove it was the stations fault, but i got my extended warranty to cover it

hopefully you get some answers and it works out in ur favor

BTW my car got back on the road Arpil 2007, and has yet to be tuned because i never trusted the big shops. but i be having it done in sept finally.
