The more I read about this stang the moreh I decide I need to wait this out. I think they made the 2011 run way to short and still need to get the kinks out. I also read up on the camaro on ls1 tech hut I'm still not impressed but ill give it a test drive anyway..

Why not try a Mazda Speed 3 or 6? Turbo'd, fit people comfortable, great on gas, handles like a dream ( very sporty IMO but your teeth don't get jarred out when you hit a bump) resale is great....be perfect for a young person like yourself instead of trying to buy a status symbol.

Nice suggestion but I don't like them.. I would just try to keep my cobalt and fix the stuff wrong with it instead of make a payment on those cars..

I LOVE the new Mustangs. I have a chance to buy one but it's too much for me to spend on what will be just a "toy". We have a 2010 rs 2ss Camaro and it's...ehhh, not impressive to me.

Horrible rattles, runs like crap, had a sunroof leak twice, already replaced the fuel pump, both original remotes broke and the $100+ replacement remote also broke.
My car needs brakes and tires, and has been hit twice and also had the motor flooded during a storm but had all the fluids drained and the car runs decent now, but I don't see the motor being able to last as long as it should since that happened.
The 9k the dealer offered is amazing considering all of that!
I don't want a payment and could afford a nice truck in cash but I can't take the hit on gas since I'm driving 60 miles a day, right now and will be up another 20 when school starts in septemer.
I don't want to be driving a car I don't want or like! I want my commute to work to be more enjoyable by being in a car I actually want and wasn't forced upon because my other dd blew up...

So basically it's an entry-level value segment vehicle that has been through the wringer? I'd say it's on par with what can be expected from it.

Buy a used Toyota Camry, enjoy the 32+ MPG, finish school, pay all bills, evaluate life.
Do things in this order, while not pissing away the money you manage to save while going to school, and you just might enjoy life and have all debts paid when you enter the professional workforce.
No its not fun, its responsible. Fun comes later.
The first 1/3 of your life you learn how to make money
The second 1/3 of your life you work to make money
The last 1/3 of your life you spend the money you made
Where is your mom? Why isn't she slapping you around while you piss away all the money you have so far with the failed hobbies? How many YEARS have the older, experienced people on this board been telling you to be responsible with your (and your parents) money?
Forget the Mustang, WRX and any car over $10k right now. Get reliable and gas-saving for the next 4 years.
After you land a career job and have a steady income without major expenses like school loans, then you can indulge in a treat like a Camaro or Mustang.
Unless you're rich, you should learn from those who have been in your situation and lived it already. You have an opportunity to come out ahead.

I understand I am the poster boy here. I get it. You want to make an example out of me, maybe you want the best for me, Maybe help me from making a mistake you once did, or maybe you just want to call me a dumb ass.
We can talk about where my Mom is here, or where Jake's Mom was when he had a brand new LS1 car as his first ride. We can say I have to many cars or we can talk about the kid that had 2 ls1 camaro's, a pro street car, and a newer gm truck. Bottom line is I am always going to be a target here, and I am okay with it because I am not going to change my desire's, my logic, or who I am as a person.
Yes getting a 30k car is not the smartest decision, but neither is paying 10-12k for a beat up 10+ year old fbody that I wanted..So I made the decision to sell my motorcycle, and save every penny for a nice, new car that I can drive and ENJOY every day and THAT'S WHAT I AM GOING TO DO.
I have a steady Income, I get paid more then my Sister, Father and unfortunately my Mother(who showed me real work ethic!) After I buy this car In the end I am still going to be working 10 hour days, going to school and paying a car payment. I will also still have money in my checking, savings and CD accounts, I even manage to keep my stock...
I know all of you are perfect and managed to buy a responsible DD and purchased a house as soon as you were old enough to drink, because this is GoodHousekeeping.org but as for me, I will be taking a different route and will still manage to have a house when I am ready for one in the 3+ years it will take me graduate..
This thread is as good as done. If you want you can continue to call me a dumb ass and come up with cute pet nick names for me here or you can do it in the basement, your choice
I

Wayfast, I feel you make these posts just to troll, and have people actually talk about you. You've seen these same threads over and over again, and you STILL chime in with your own. I'm not sure if you were expecting us to exempt you from what opinions we give you, but if you were expecting us to say go for this car instead of save you're money and be a smart person so you can afford stuff later in life, then I am truely disappointed in you, and I'm sure I am not alone.

Al, where have you been the last two pages, of course he can afford it. He doesn't want no economical car, he wants to go to the dealership, pick up a sports car, and make it rain on them. Why? Because, Wayfast.
Nothing says a solid income and no worries in the future like a bad economy, car payments, and an unknown career. HE CAN'T LOSE!!

Or owning a 400+hp muscle car that gets teens in MPG dept, as gas prices keep rising.
Want to be a baller, drop 40 large on a car, and not have to worry? Get a Volt.

That's not fair. The same applies to everyone. By that logic, even doctors and CEOs should then also buy Corollas because we are unable to tell the future.
If he can afford it, then what's the problem? Life is too short to worry about depreciating assets and stuff like that. Sports cars are not a logical purchase, for anyone. In the end, people will get what they want for no other reason than it makes them happy. As long as I've known Matt (Matt, not Wayfast guys. Whether we like it or not, he is an adult now) on this forum, he has loved cars. Now that he has the fiscal means, he should be able to realize that dream. So to all of you guys trying to be logical, I laugh at you, because no logical purchase got you to this forum.

Agreed.
Wayfast, some people may rip on you because they think it's cool but some people gave you solid advice. For what it's worth they also gave **** to some other people that wanted to spend big $$$ on cars. It's not just you.
However, with that said you know your reputation here, you know some people will rip on you for the sake of ripping on you yet you post stuff like this. I'm not saying they get a pass for giving you **** but you're trolling, plain and simple. You knew it would turn into a flame fest.
Best of luck on what you decide, just remember, you can't live at home forever...

that is because so many of the people in this country live above their means, are ass deep in debt and chase the latest & greatest materialistic things, which is exactly how the country ended up in the economic mess it is in. everyone needed a bigger house and new cars, etc.. Selfishness runs amok in the US.
nothing wrong with living at home a few years if the funds are not there or you are saving money. but if a person lives at home just so they can spend themselves into a hole, that is a total failure. or so mom can do your laundry, that is total selfish failure. at some point a person needs to realize they are an adult, devise and execute a plan for living.
This thread has runs it's course as it has gotten personal to some degree. I also think we've had enough of the recent spate of sub 21 year olds posting look at me I'm cool because I want to go ass deep in debt so I can say I have a cool new car, and to hell with everyone who knows better trying to help me threads. This is the 3rd or 4th one and it is getting redundant.
