John posted exactly what you can (and should use) to dry your vehicles off. The texture and material traps any dirt, not allowing it to scratch the finish and these guys soak up a lot of water - plus they all can be washed like MF towels.

We do carry them - not Adam's, but comparable.

Like FB said, we do have the citrus wash concentrate, which will strip off wax if you use it close to 1oz/gallon, otherwise 1oz/bucket is a great wash - very versatile.

We also carry a product in a 35oz spray bottle by Griot's Garage that does the exact same thing, but is controllable for just a panel instead of the whole vehicle.

And yes you can mix some dish soap into your normal car wash too - but only if your paint is in excellent shape. I have heard that on marginal paint, dish soap can rapidly accelerate paint degradation, regardless of type or age.

Paul, how does the Griots glass polish work for getting water marks off glass? The windows on my Ram have hard water marks that I can't seem to get rid of.

Also, how do we go about ordering this stuff? Just call the number on the website?

I don't stock the Griot's glass polish. But I do carry the CG water spot remover, which will work well on glass - as well as paint and metalwork.

went down to Paul's shop last week and bought a whole stash of high grade products. very pleased. this past weekend I went to work on the paint of the car with all the supplies. turned out great. probably the best detailing session since the car was painted in 2007.



try not to look at the wheels, I did not polish them and have not done so since mid summer last year since they are going to be replaced in a few weeks with some killer Boze forged wheels. the purpose for posting these photos is to show the awesome quality of the products I bought from paul. I don't have any good BEFORE photos really, just the After ones, but you can tell by the reflections in the paint on the car surfaces that the stuff works great.

Hey Paul, what are your thoughts on the toughest, longest lasting wax for a daily driver? I used the Meguiars Hi-Tech yellow wax on the truck because it's all I had sitting around and it's already fading out quickly like I figured it would. So I'm looking for something that will last longer, especially on a darker colored vehicle.

I know we talked a little about this at the Duke meet last weekend.

Nothing wrong with Meguiars, but it is not a long lasting wax like newer ones on the market. I do like their synthetic wax, but don't really use it anymore.

You have two types of paint protectant - waxes, which are made from the wax extract of the carnauba plant; and sealants, which are similar to wax, but are made of synthetic polymers and definitely more long lasting. Both go on and come off easy - sealants are typically gel or a soft cake, waxes can be anything from liquid to cake and everything between.

Darker colored cars can use any wax or sealant, but there are a few specific waxes that will accent dark colors to become more vivid and glossy. I carry one wax by Chemical Guys called Pete's 53 Black Pearl that excels on dark paint, yet is awesome on lighter colors.

I cant remember if I gave you a sample of CG wet mirror at the meet (green liquid) - drank enough this past week to kill 4 average irishmen... We mirror is a gloss enhancing glaze that adds depth and gloss to any colors and works great on reds, blues, and grays. A coat of Wet Mirror before any wax or sealant is a recipe for blindingly shiny paint.

John mentioned Collinite, which is an excellent, long lasting budget priced wax. Can't go wrong with that one - just that it won't add any "sparkle" like some of the newer products will.

all in all very satisfied with the products i picked up at Pauls shop

the wash worked well and he gave me a pump for it so all you need is one pump's worth of product, no guessing by trying to pour out a proper amount from a huge container.

i used my existing clay bar but with the blue speed shine that i bought. the speed shine did work great and i like the nozzel on the sprayer because you can twist/dial it in for a finer mist than the typical detailing sprayers which are just on or off spray. i used the speed shine to wipe down inside the engine bay and it worked great

i then used the Griots fine hand polish. i used to use meguiers, but this stuff seemed to spread easier and it got "cakey" a bit quicker. i like it but i had to work in smaller sections compared to the other polish i used.

i bought two red applicator pads from paul and used one with the wet-mirror finish and the other with the Poorboys wax. i had never used wax out of container before, usually the liquid megiuers stuff . it was different at first but it went on easier and didnt drip all over os splatter. it has a great smell to it too. i did two coats on the horizontal surfaces and one coat on the other panels. i will be applying a coat to my new wheels when they arrive too.

the satin CG tire shine is great. i went with satin instead of full gloss because i wanted the tires to look natural and not too flashy. i only did a basic job on the current tires just because the wheels will be swapped out soon.

the interior cleaner worked well. used it on the dashboard, door panels, center console and trunk plastics with success and no mess and no greasy after-feel

i also had about 20 microfiber rags that were used up after this whole detailing session, so i put them in the washing machine with the towel cleaner i bought from paul and they came out like new.

i was also a big fan of the new wash-towel which seemed to hold suds and be versatile during the wash session.
