Still gotta go to some of the airports, scope out the area, get numbers, and speak to the right people. April is a difficult month to do a shoot or at least schedule one becuase the weather is unpredictable.

I've been busy with school, but I still keep my eye out for stuff still. Plus this weather has been a joke, so I think we should maybe all agree on a May date.

Is an airport (as cool as it sounds) really going to work given hightened security and all?
Has anyone actually called the airport and asked yet?
Not trying to rain on the parade, but I think an airport, however small, is going to be a tough sell. How many cars are we talking? Anyone know? That to me is the key: How many cars.
There is a park near me in Randolph that has a decent amount of parking and a large pond. I believe the pond is still surrounded by sand, but I haven't checked in some time. I photographed my car at this very park last year and it's flat, lots of green grass, and has a decent amount of trees in the background. Not sure exactly what you dudes are after, but a natural setting to me is more my style versus the runway of an airport.
I also realize I hardly post here anymore, so my suggestion justifiably has little weight (as it should) and I know depending on the day, there may be soccer/baseball games going on. So if you want, and think this location is worthy, I will make the calls to the township and ask if it's even an option.
Here are some pics of where it is:

the sussex airport has little or no security, you can drive right up on the grouds without hassle. i'm mot just saying this i live close by and go there all the time on my harley. If you talk to the right people thay will let you even run down the runway (its a private airport) there are burnout marks on both sides. its very rural (grass fields, some old planes, farms, and mountains for a background) I'll try to get some pics and post them if anyone is interested.

I really think that the airport idea is the way to go. I honestly think it can be done, wheather its at a rinky dink airport or even a decent sized one.

Yea, that airport might be a good idea. My grandparents have a farm just down the street from there (at the corner of 565 and beemer church road).
Google Map <-- Airport

I know the sussex airport, that would also be a really nice cruise. I love those country style roads. I haven't been there in a long time though.
We should still call first.

Calling or making contact is going to be the key here. For anyone who has suggested an airport at which they have a conact person available, or they know a contact number, I encourage you to use them/it. I would rather know now rather than last second what will be available to us vs. what won't for planning purposes.

The airport doesnt' have to be "scenic". Any airport will have what we need (taxi ways, and runways). I thought this was decided as our primary spot for the photo shoot (or at least that was the impression I was under). Personally I really think this will be the best. But, we need the people who have suggested airports that are near them, that they think would be okay with us having this photo shoot to contact the airports and find out! Only then will we have something we can rely on for this.
If all else fails, and there is absolutly no chance for a photo shoot at an airport, I would vote to have the photo shoot near the beech.
Personally I think fields and trees may be nice for some certain photo's, but I have yet to be impressed with a car picture that was used with trees or grass.
