That's because they are not just chick cars. They are driven by overly environmentally conscious, Starbucks drinkin', Whole Foods organic shoppin', non-meat eatin' new-age yuppies. Oh, and they're overly smug, too. Just ask Stan Marsh.

Who made up those numbers?! I just got 31 mpg on my trip to Ocean City, NJ first with the t-tops off, then with the a/c on, followed up by some city driving. I do have a Hooker catback and its a Firebird, not a Camaro. I suppose you could chalk up 5 mpg to that and my amazing highway driving and nicely broken-in motor at 140,000 miles.
Anyway, people that say v6 f-bodies are chick cars might have an identity crisis were they to see a debadged car. Basically if you can't decide whether or not the car is masculine or feminine when you see it on the road (assuming it is a car driven with its hood closed), you shouldn't consider it a chick car.
A Mini Cooper is a chick car and I would drive one until the wheels fell off.

Alex posted the LT1 v. 3.4 mileage (v6 of same year) somewhere
and it was a difference of a total 2 mpg

what are you trying to say.....my car ain't no damn girl car....I know more girls with 3.8 or v8 Camaros than girls with 3.4 Camaros or 3rd gen v6s...hell...JEFF a woman owned your car 1st...

could that possibly be because 3.8's are a little easier to find? or because they're newer? girls have a tendency to go towards the newer "prettier" cars
doesn't matter which they are

yeah, somebody dead this thread
cbbr mike, ignore me through user preferences if your bothered.
bonzo, I stand by my previous statement.
You ARE a tool.
It's not my ARGUMENTS that you think are retarded, its my opinions. Which is something entirely different.
And quite possibly the idea, that i'm hypocritical. Maybe you find that retarded.
But,

Plus I’m still getting over the SBC is not a good engine. And why it is ok to do 98 on a public road (and the irony that you started the thread about the speeding crackdown just days before). And that all turbos die (before any other part, which was the undeclared assertion), and that all modded engines are unreliable except LS1s of course, but you’d trade you LS1 car for a turbo Buick, the whole Tool thread thing...
|
it sucks, its fine, they do, thats right.
I have yet to ARGUE... any of that... they are simply my opinions. ...Tool
But i'll argue with you..
Car X is a chick car. When Car X is modified it becomes a guy car. 50% of Car X's are modified.
How the ****... Is Car X a chick car? You stupid moron.

WTF are you talking about...miata is a chick car end of story...I know 6 girls that own them and a butt pirate. and if I ha seen you say the SBC is a crap motor I would have reamed you out like a mofo...I could do basic mods and be faster to a SBC. but not only that...I bet I could buy the car and make it faster for less than you bought your car...lets see 86 T/A 350sbc swapped in already...800 for the car, 1500 for dart aluminum heads 200 for a stealth ram manifold 300 for headers 400 for true duals 400 for a nice carb and I'm willing to bet thats putting right around 400hp to the ground for 2200. what did you buy you high and might LS1 for? thank you...end of story

See now Mr. Name Caller, I highlighted the part of your argument that is illogical because you tried to prove your point with a false statement. Your argument is based on the assumption that any mod is masculine in nature. That is false.
And then there is the 50% figure included as part of your argument. Again, an argument based on a false premise. While I could not prove it wrong, you certainly cannot prove it correct. Hell, not only would I be very surprised if 50% of units of any production car (i.e. not one off, hand builts, dealer tuners, etc.) were modified by their owners, I’d be surprised if 10% was the actual total. With most production cars, I’d wager the number is closer to 2% tops. I’m sure most reasonable people would agree.
So your failed attempt at arguing proves my point. I stand by my initial statement until proven otherwise.

Hmm, I think I’d rather be a ‘tool’ then a hypocrite. At least I’m consistent. And I don’t resort to name calling when I have nothing left in the tank.
BTW, there lots of SBC powered third gens that would eat your car for breakfast.
