I've had a huge crush on the girl next door to me since 1st grade. We were friends all through elementary school then she started to hang out with other people as did I. Highschool came quick and I was dating people from other schools, she was dating some older guy, needless to say, I finally confesed my love for her just to get it off my back. It didn't work out but I was ten times happier that she knew. If anything, I bet I made her day even if she didn't like me the same. That's what my friend always tells himself..., "I bet I made her day." and it's so true. We (girls and guys) exchange confidence through flirting, frustrating, but rewarding. Also what goes around comes around, trust me, just flirt and you may be suprised to get some back.
About the age thing, it doesn't matter so long as both of the individules see each other as something OTHER than a guide to life. Too often girls will date an older guy thinking he's going to show her experienced relationships... doesn't work that way folks. You can could find a person that's 20 years older than you and they're so imature it makes you're kid brother/sister look smart. Some people mature faster than others and never go into a relationship that you think of yourself as less worthy. That'll either piss the other person off or leave you broke and tired from giving so much with little return.
Okay, preacher mode off, turning colar around... sitting in for bachelor number 1. "if you were an animal which would you be and why?", I'd be a...... hehe.
|
Its very true, but after a certain period of time you dont feel confident.
Take me for example... I havent succesfully gotten a real date in months, and then you get all depressed, and totally give up for a while. Then when you want to try again, youve lost all confidence in talking to girls.
Its kinda like falling off a bike, and getting hurt real bad. Your afraid to get back on it and ride.
I still havent touched that bike in a while.
|
Look at it this way...
If you go up to her, and she likes you, you gained.
If you go up to her, and she doenst like you, you haven't gained, but you havent lost either.
Going up to someone is like playing a lottery ticket that someone gave you. If you win, you win. If you loose, you didnt loose.
If that makes any sense.

That's rather sad to think that she wouldn't understand. For crying out loud, did you at least invite her?
Women that don't understand that you need FRIENDS to stay sain are wako's. Trust me, they are SCARY crazy. I can't tell you how many of my friends have no friends because of a crazy life sucking b*tch of a girlfriend that would make them feel bad for going out once a week with a group of friends. I've only saved 1 of my friends from said life ruining relationships. It was back in highschool when my best friend started dating a girl we all knew. We always said hi to her but she would never talk. She just was SO shy. She latched onto him like a life preserver that we couldn't go anywhere without her. Me and a bunch of friends pulled him aside and had to tell him to choose between her and us. We where is 2 best friends and it was enough to get him to dump her. She was so attached to him that when he went away to college she transfered to a school 5 minutes away from his (Rochester Univ.). He's now living a normal life with friends, family, and a girlfriend while the bitch has gotten married and had a kit already.
Moral of the story; if you're young, relationships need to be flexible. If a girl makes you decide between friends or her, drop her like a bad habit. If she can't stand your friends how do you think she'll stand YOU in the long run?

I agree, being single WAS fun for awhile, but it gets old after a year or so...although being a guy its alot harder to meet "interesting" people, i think girls have it easy (and yes i know that statement is gonna get me a lashin from every girl on the board). but seriously i'd love for a girl to ask me on a date, or initiate the conversation. who's with me on that one?
|
I definitely agree that girls have it easier when meeting people, especially at bars/clubs and other social events. And I would have to agree with what someone said earlier about how girls suck. I seriously think that girls are worse then guys these days. Yep, I'm a 22 yr old female and I admit it!

haha yep... I think we've reached that point where everyone should post a picture of themselves, and see what develops from that...
but then again, that might turn into one giant leg-humping thread with 20 guys going after about 4-5 girls...

OK, this is what I have learned tonight.....there is NO proper way to go up to a girl at a bar/club. Either the girl is interested in you or she's not. It doesn't matter what the guy says or does to initiate conversation, so don't freak out to much about what your first impression will be when going up to someone at a bar/cub. The first impression was already made when a girl looked at you, and when she did, she already decided whether or not she would talk to you if you possibly came up to her. AND, if you go up to her and she wants to talk to you, then whatever you do, don't act too shy! AND, if she ignores you or answers your questions very short and looks around on how to find the best route to get away from you without making you feel bad, then just walk away before the situation gets worse.
