My work has no power, we have a generac 22.5 kw generator that powers our servers, so we ran extension cords all over the office to power the computers.
Then ran a generator/welder off one of our boom trucks to get the garage doors open to get the trucks out. Now our crews are out doing damage control.

I survived my car ride home from Nawlins in that mess (Saw snow in TN!)
Long Valley is atrocious and my neighborhood was hit with a mini tornado but Hackettstown and everywhere else seems ok - just without power.
ADP has been open all week and expected us to be here all week. HA! Finished driving home from New Orleans Monday until 7pm, then passed out (already lost power), and yesterday tried to do damage control on trees/catch up on lost sleep. Here at work now.
Impossible to find gas stations with gas to run generator.
Shorehouse survived with a broken flagpole - our neighbor checked.

They can't get gas to keep filling up the trucks!

Nice! I'm too cheap to buy one plus getting fuel is a PITA. I have seeked refuge at my Grandmothers since she has power, heat and food.
Neighbors have a generator and are watching the house which is good.

does anybody have information on the fuel situation in jersey? i know everyone is packed to get into gas stations because many have no power to even pump, but i know some are bone dry. ive also been hearing to expect shortages of fuel in the upcoming days...but thats all just word of mouth no facts to back it..anybody know?
what makes me sick though are people who drive and dont need anything important or drive aimlessly to check out damage in town, and there are people who need that fuel for generators to keep them and their families warm..

I have heard from a friend who is local PD that stations near Flemington will be dry and will not be getting fuel until Monday.

I was out yesterday and passed one station in New Brunswick/Franklin that had power and had over 50 cars in line then - probably ran out of gas a few hours later I'm sure.
North Brunswick power is mostly out - we are out, but part of my complex on another grid went back up last night. Surprisingly I have power at my shop in Hillsborough, but not much else in town is up and running right now except the stop & shop center on 206 and some other places nearby. Unfortunately the two gas stations 1/2 a block away are still dark...

Matters not! When tens of thousands are homeless/displaced, you just don't say that.

We have power back, heat, internet and tv so it wasn't as bad as it could have been in our area. I just put all the downed branches in the back of my truck so it was actually less than a couple of the summer storms we had. Definitely less damage than the October snow storm last year. I feel for the shore people who lost everything.

Stopped by my apartment earlier today to grab the last of my stuff. No power there yet. Here in Maple Shade some random blocks are out, but good where I am cept the furnace took a crap. Still no electric at work as of a hour ago.
I feel for everyone else. Hope the lights come back on soon for ya. The power guys are working as hard as they can. Thankfully the winds arent high so they can put their buckets in the air...

Power came back in my section of Kearny this afternoon. I had no damage but there are a lot of trees down in this town.

Lights came on at work in keasby at 7. Most importantly I finally heard from my gf in Staten Island. She's okay but her house is pretty much done.

Its not impossible...but it is damn hard and only a few stations have gas and power at the same time. Lines have been reported to be 5 hours long. I posted in the other thread about some places that may be able to help those who are desperately looking for gas in NW Jersey.

Diesel was impossible to find. That truck is parked until power is back up locally.
However, The last car i stripped, i had removed the tank which still had fuel, so today i poured it out into a gas can then into my cruze. Recycling FTW. I refuse to sit in line for over and hour just to get gas. Caddy is still at 3/4 tank since I filled up saturday. If i need more, ill pop off the fuel line from the Trans am and use that fuel.
My gf got power back early this morning, yet my town is still pitch black. I finally saw the first group of repair trucks at 8pm tonight though.
I had planned on driving north towards Albany to get a generator today but since next week im ordering a 7kw natural gas residential standby generator, im not gonna waste the money. im getting by for now.

Still have no power, heat, water or Att cell service (will be 2 weeks ![Sad](http://www.njfboa.org/forums/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif) ). Made it to work where they have all that finally after the tree guys cleared the roads (thanks guys!) No damage to the homestead, plenty of fuel, but no generator. Bartering with the Neighbors. ![Smile](http://www.njfboa.org/forums/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif) getting real cold at night!
