Whats this for?

So my tahoe is nice and loud and that causes a decent drone on the highway @ 2k rpm doing 65-70. So i ripped out my entire interior and im laying down a bunch of sound deadning material.

Just above the pass side rear wheel there is this thing and im just curious what it there for. Any ideas? Sorry for the bad pic

Why not replace the muffler with one that doesn't drone. My Silverado has a Magnaflow with dual outlets and tailpipes and it is pretty quiet on the highway.

ok good, i should have been able to figure that out. Before i pulled it out to get some material on the metal behind it I wanted to know what it was.

because they came with the truck, love the way it sounds, and its not even that bad of a drone but i figured i can make it better. Plus i had some stuff left over from my firebird so I figure why not shell more money out if i dont have to.

Incase anyone was curious. It deff made the truck much quieter. Think I'm gonna do the doors and rear liftgate also. But for now I put two layers down and stopped just before the middle seat
