New Index racing series at E-town

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ

Official 2007 Raceway Park Heads-up Index Schedule


April 21 - 4pm

May 26 - 9 am

June 9 - 4 pm

July 28 - 4 pm

October 27 - 4 pm

3 Classes: 10.00, 11.00 & 12.00

Entry fee: $50, Car & Driver.


RACEWAY PARK 10.00, 11.00 & 12.00 Heads-up Index Class Rules


1. 3 Classes will be contested, 10.00, 11.00 and 12.00 Index
2. .500 Pro Tree, Heads-up, Breakout in effect (9.999, 10.999, 11.999 you lose)
3. 16-Car qualified field, NHRA Sportsman ladder, Qualifying is closest to Index without running under. Race Director has option to expand qualified field.
4. Lane choice goes to quickest car in qualifying or the previous round.
5. Deep staging allowed.
6. Auto-Start will be in effect. Auto-Start “Time-Out” set at 10 seconds, qualifying and eliminations.
7. Mufflers required. Car must be “street” muffled. No Bullet style mufflers. Exhaust must extend past drivers door.
8. Body: Full-bodied factory street-type cars and light trucks only. Grilles and bumpers required. Roll pan may replace bumper. Maximum hood scoop height: 9” above hood.
9. Lettering: Optional
10. Safety: You must meet all NHRA and NJ State Safety requirements for your performance level.
11. Electronics: Only Transbrakes and 2-steps allowed. OEM electronic transmissions allowed. Electric, hydraulic or pneumatic shifter and/or clutch release devices prohibited. Also see NHRA Rulebook, General Regulations, Sections 8.2, 8.7 and 9.1 for other exclusions.
12. Bracket Racing Aids: Devices such as optical sensors, delay boxes, stutter boxes, and throttle stops are not allowed. The application or use of any device, mechanical or electronic, that permit the driver to ascertain the position of their vehicle in relation to the starting line is prohibited.
13. Interior: Cars must resemble factory street-type interior, including factory dash, door panels, carpeting front and rear, and headliner. No gutted or “bracketized” interiors, at the discretion of Raceway Park management.
14. Street Equipment: Lights, mirrors, grilles and bumpers required.
15. Glass: Windows must roll down, NO LEXAN. Exception: Only 10.00 Index may have Lexan front and rear windshield.
16. Tires: Any tire suitable for racing, must fit inside wheelwells.
17. Rear Suspension:
In 11.00 and 12.00 Index: Modified stock suspension or ladder bars allowed. No back-half cars or racing-style 4-link cars.
In 10.00 Index only: Back-halves allowed. May have aftermarket 4-link, ladder bar, or modified stock suspension. Wheelie bars prohibited.
18. Sandbagging: Blatant sandbagging is grounds for disqualification.

Yeah I like it too. It is low budget heads-up without the hassles for worrying who has what in their car
