After the 20th, I'm done with work and back to school so my schedule gets freed up at the end of the month.

Tuesday the 24th would be better for me. Hard for me to get more than a couple minutes in front of the computer on Thursdays and Fridays.....

I talked to my brother-in-law today. He says he's going to sign up again, but is waiting to see where some of his other drafts fall. I told him to do it soon, so we'll see what happens.

As for me, I have another league that's doing their draft on Aug 31 at 8:15pm. So as long as it doesn't conflict with that anytime should be good for me.

No problem. He's been away this past week but will be back tomorrow. I'll see if I can get a hold of him this weekend.

alright it looks like we are full... now, the 12 people that are in can decide on stakes, i know 20 and 25 have both been mentioned, im fine with whichever, as is my buddy from off the forum, as soon as i hear from the other 10, we can decide on the payment method...

as far as pay breakdown, i am thinking of doing it the same way i do home poker games...

third place gets their money back, then first and second split the rest 70/30

that is also open to opinions

$20 or $25 is fine with me, really don't have the extra cash on hand to go higher than that though.

That payout sound good to me.

One of my baseball leagues on CBS Sportsline does it. Everyone started the season with $250. It's not real money, you just set it up. However, I don't know if Yahoo lets you do it in the "basic" leagues. I'm sure as the commisioner you would be able to see an option for it in the settings somewhere if you can. I personally like it better because it keeps people from just adding and dropping willy-nilly, and adds another dimension of managing your team.

BTW, I am cool with $25.

wow, i thought it said "change anything" for the adds and drops... ive never done a league that way, but am willing to if everyone else is... might be a little harder with football with the regularity of season ending injuries

Yeah, I've never done it in a football league. Only in baseball. However, I don't think the injuries should be too much of a problem. In my baseball league I had 3 of my top draft picks have season ending injuries or 4 month DL stays. I've added/drop guys and still have $122 left for the rest of the season.

there's a few ways to do it. like ls1hawk said, you give every team a set money value for teh entire year and every week if there is a free agent they want than they place a bid on him. the free agent goes to the highest bidder. after you spend all of your imaginary money on free agents you can no longer pick them up so you need to use your money wisely.

what this prevents is the monday morning scavenger scooping up all the free agents at 7am in the morning when they unlock. basically so some teams can stack themselves up.

in my cash leagues we have to pay $2.00 per transaction (real money) and it goes into the pot for any add/drops and $5.00 for trades...lol..but those leagues are based on your waiver order...the better your team is the higher up you are on the waiver order which means you have less of a chance of gettting a good player.

but, i was just wondering. if we dont do anything like that than its no big deal.

there isnt an option for that on yahoo to be done automatically... you can do a weekly limit or season limit on waiver moves though

If we are in a basic format league, they probably don't give you the option. You most likely have to pay for a package that has it. That would have to had been discussed before we opened the league. But it's an idea for next year if people are interested. People would have to pay a higher buy-in to offset the league's fee. But usually when you get those packages you get other goodies like better analysis, updates, etc.
