Horns and steering column

Ok, Since I've had my car my horns never worked. I tried today to fix them I tested the horns they work, changed the relay, still no horns. I pulled off the airbag, and I found my answer, my horn relays and wiring was ripped out, as well as the steering wheel radio controls, unless some dumbass installed a column from and older model. I'm going to have to install a new column now, my question is will a 98+ column and wheel and airbag work with my 94 wiring. I have a pioneer radio with the wiring harness to connect the wheel controls to the radio, or is my best bet to get another column and from a 93-96 and reuse my wheel.

If it's just a problem with the steering column wiring why not just replace the SIR coil?

#1 in this image. If your car has steering wheel audio controls it would run through this part.

The horn does not run through that part tho, there is a wire with a spring loaded contact that is supposed to connect/twist into #4 in this picture.

Ok, gotcha, now I have that spring wire still on the back of the airbag. On my 92 RS I had buttons that were attched to the wheel that sat behind the airbag. I do not have these buttons on my wheel, do they not exist on the 4th gens. I do have that rectangular contact plate, unless that acts as the horn button.

i plugged in that spring wire to the horn contact on the column, and still no horns...what color wires from the column are the horn wires....the fuse is good and the relay is new.
