How the hell will I transport this!?

This question is geared more towards those of you have purchased a hood for your cars.

There is a 4th gen Fboday hood in central NJ that I want to buy. Price is right so I can finally get one, but I have not the slightest idea how I'm going to actually GET IT (pick it up). Obviously, it's not going to fit in the 'bird, and I don't know anyone with a pick-up anymore; only SUVs.

So, how the hell can I get this thing from Middletown to Oakland?!?
What would you guys do in this situation; what do you think is my best option right now?

so close, yet so far away

Either sold or away at college already. (If I hadn't exhausted my cell phone contacts, I wouldn't be on here asking for other options.)

22 on Wednesday. As far as paperwork goes, getting someone 25+ to sign for something wouldn't be a problem--what'd you have in mind?

Bingo. Rent a truck for a few hours, then give it back. Problem solved.

I've transported a harwood ram air hood in my 97 bird - it is tight but it will fit.

I don't remember if I removed the front passenger seat or not.....but it will fit

You don't need to be 25 to rent a truck at Home Depot.
I've rented a truck from home depot when I was 20 without any surcharge like most car rental places charges and you don't need to buy anything from the store to rent it during the week.

Mike, i'd check the measurements for putting it in the back of the ole trans am dude, if it fits, it'll save you the hassle.

I moved one of the stock flat hoods in my 4th gen. Was really tight on the sides, but it went in and i could still close the hatch

Did you remove the front seats? What was the roof clearance like? (This one has the Ram Air cowl & nostrils).
Did it scratch up against your hatch glass? Mine has tint film on it, so I'd hate to have it tear.

i hat to push both seats all the way forward and put it in on an angle, it did rub up against the back glass though, but u could always put a towl down and then just tie the hatch closed

I'm sure he left at least on of the front seats in.

Friend on another board strapped a hood to the roof of his s10 blazer and drove all the way from virginia with no issues. I would just be concerned of cracking corners by trying to wedge it into a tight vehicle

Go to a dealership (not mine please) Pretend to like a truck, ask to take it to your wife, pick up your hood, bring it back and say "she don't like it" and leave...
