its not really a secret... we just dont wanna get everyones hopes up for a place that wont work out. tim and i are talking a lot about many different places. and karl and i are going to stop by these places on sunday to see whats actually available. then we'll get back to u.

and matt... all the places were considering are within a half hour from where u work. i think. so u shud be able to make it before everyone goes inside.

Some I can think of off the top of my head are Bennigans....and thats the only one i can remember. I'm thinking we should find someplace that suits our needs and then some. Personally, I think that if we used the same resurant time and time again, (1) it would significantly cut down on confusion as to how to get there, and (2) the management would know us, understand that we dont cause trouble or anything, and be even more willing to accomedate us. lets say we have 50 people, and each one spends maybe 20 bucks...thats 1000 bucks earned for the manager to report to the owner...and they did it in a few hours. if they see that its a profitable investment to host our north jersey event, they'll be much more inclined to do it again.

you jsut hit on somethign i have actually been lookin into a bit. we already have a little bit of a good reputation with fuddruckers since we have held meets at many of their locations over teh years(not jsut us, other f-body clubs i have been involved with) and they know that we aren't a real hard crowd to get along with.
benegins would be another great example of a potential relationship with a chain restaurant. they ahve good food, big lots usually, the prices aren't bad, and everyone is allowed in.
we prolly will want to move around a little bit to keep it interesting and give more people a shto at getting that short ride to teh meet every once in a while.

later

OK, since this may be my first meet I should start tossing my 2 cents in where ever. But I was thinking. Wasn't there an Applebee's at Paramus Park Mall? I figured it would be a good place since the lot is so huge and we could probably get an OK from the premesis security. We'd just have to have someone show up at 1 and start blocking off the parking lot as customers leave. Any thoughts????

theres a bennigans by me in englewood, but i doubt thats the neighborhood most of the members would want to come to, lol.
I dont think theres an apple bees at paramus park, but there is across the street by TJ max. Gio(93z28 was black and orange, now yellow) works there, so maybe email him and see if he could get info.
Theres a ruby tuesdays at garden state plaza, but then you ahve to deal with saturday mall traffic which isnt fun.
Theres a fuddruckers on rt 4 in paramus as well.
I'd say Charlie browns, but around me none have much parking.
There is a TGIfridays right off rt 4 in hackensack, ALOT of parking there, but again, im not sure how theyd work with a party of 50 people.

I'm just trying to throw out any ideas that come to mind...

most of those are on our list of places to talk to. except for the charlie browns. which i can add... weather pending karl and i will be going around this afternood to talk to managers

i think the applebees hes talking about is the one in the fashion center. by toys r us and best buy in paramus. its right behind the jag dealership. but again we would have to deal with mall traffic. so were going to talk to them but its not exactly our first pick... with the way their tables are set up inside and parking... it just doesnt seem to be the best choice.

Applebee's in Totowa maybe?...
No, Paul, no Englehood
And charlie brown's prolly wouldn't be the best idea, between parking and prices

Your average bennigans/ applebee's etc around us can not handle our typical gatherings...... 50+ people.

We need someplace that can handle around 50 people AND the parking.

Thinking...out loud I am seeing.....

Dave and Busters just over the border in NY
If we scheduled the event there I just found the following-
Your Event Planner is:
Mark Scott
845-353-1555

I am aware of this policy:
Guests under the age of 21 (legal drinking age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (a person 25 years of age or older who agrees to be responsible for the conduct and safety of the underage guests). Our N. Bethesda, Philadelphia and San Jose locations enforce a year-round 11 p.m. curfew for guests under the age of 21.

One parent or guardian can accompany up to a maximum of four underage guests.

I am not sure if this applies during the day... like on a Saturday or Sunday around 1-2 pm..... I know it has been enforced in the evening... because I have been a shaperone of some of our members

Failing that.....

Sports World on Route 17 North.....
Decent parking.....
http://www.sportsworld17.com/
But.... could be kinda weak.... mostly young kids there.....

There is Fuddruckers -
282 Route 4 East, Paramus, NJ 07652
Phone: 201-343-4533
They can handle our food requirements..... but parking is VERY weak....

Anyone..... post feedback...... idea's......

Requirements:
Must be able to handle a crowd of 50 people
Must be able to handle a crowd of 50 cars and allow us to pop hoods and BS
Median age of the group is..... 23? maybe 22...... so age limitations must be a factor....

sorry james but id give a big negative on sportsworld, from what i remember foods not too good, it can get boring, and way too many kids/gangstas.

Applebees in Totowa I know can handle the parking, its on 46 i believe, and even if theres overflow their lot is like an extension of a big supermarket complex type thingy. Just not sure as to the space inside and handling 50+ ppl

You know the central and south boys don't know that the city is secretly part of NJ and it's new york in name (and tolls ) only, but nvm cuz theres no parking in the city.

I'm thinkin now Applebees and so are everywhere, what do we have up here that would be new/different to the rest of the state (and could accomodate our needs)? would make the meet a little better methinks
