New Wheels and Tires Teaser (pics)

I got my Falken FK-452's mounted and balanced today and I test fit one on my car. They seem to fit just fine. The wheels are replica Z06's 17x9.5/18x10.5. Now I just have to do something about that ginormous fender gap!

I also just ordered a set of FK-452 285/35-18's for the rear. I'll take more pics when I get them all bolted up.

BTW, I know it's mounted on the wrong side but it was just a test.

Wheels are gunmetal grey with polished lip and rivets.

Are they directional? Looks like it is backwards.

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn't hold. I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors.

Yes and yes. That's why I added this disclaimer in my original post:

Not bad, you def don't see that combo everyday so its still a little unique. What tire size did you go with in the rear?

Thanks. I don't think I've seen anyone else with them. I guess you can have Z06 wheels and still be somewhat original!

Rears will be FK-452's in 285/35-18's on 10.5" wide rims. I wanted to go 295 but the only FK-452's in that size are 295/30 which is a smaller diameter than the fronts.

i would assume 35's b/c that's the size he's going with in the rear and doesnt want them smaller than the fronts

fronts are 17s plus a different width. a 35 front aspect ratio does not equal a 35 rear, all depends on tread width.

plus in the second pic you can see the front is a 275 40 17

Yeah the fronts are 40's. I like the look of a larger wheel/tire out back since it's nice and aggressive, but for handling I wanted to keep the four corners as close to equal as possible. That's why there's only a 10mm difference between front and rear widths and only a 0.2" difference in overall diameter.

Keep in mind that the sidewall height is a percentage of the width. The sidewall of a 315/30 would be taller than a 295/30 but a 295/35 and 315/30 are about the same.

Yeah, I was surfing around at work, and used the header at the top of the page (the one with you, ted and me) showing him that 275's would fit.

Thanks for all the comments guys. And thanks again to Big Al for suggesting the Falkens. They seem to get good reviews everywhere.

NightRyda, I got these wheels from an eBay company called O.E. Wheels and, IIRC, the offset for the fronts is 54mm and I didn't have any fitment problems.
