Question tac stuck on 6k?

i was just wondering if anyone kne wut was wrong wit my car . i havent gotten a chance to follow the wire but my tac stays at 6k while its on. and when i turn it off it only falls to 5500. any ideas

what kind of car? year? engine? dash type(if its a 3rd gen, there was a digital and analog one)

you have a short to ground in your wire harness, you should have a big cap style HEI distributor. theres 3 clips that plug into the cap, a single wire that goes from the cap to the main harness is the tach wire. make sure its plugged in and not exposed anywhere near the block
