We did a little more after those last pics were posted but then my brother had his first child. Its been on hold since then but it should get back on track after the holidays, especially since he saw me start to pull apart the Firebird I just posted! I will update both frequently but until the holidays are over, the focus is on the Bird.

First time I'm looking at this at home, so I can actually see the pics. Excellent work! All of the old paint: Did you sand that down to bare metal, or was there some chemical stripper involved? Haven't done it myself, so I'm interested to learn. If you sanded it, did you use an air powered sanding disk and if so, what grit do you recommend?

Thanks, I started to sand it with the DA (40 grit) but switched to paint stripper because it is much easier. The stripper is great because you don't have to deal with the dust. However, you do have other things to worry about. You need a good pair of gloves, a mask and a properly vented area, it is very potent. Temp has to be around 70* for optimal results. for the floor pans, frame, suspension parts and rusty areas I sand blasted them. You still have some sanding to do after the stripper if there was body work done to it before, it does not peel the bondo off.
