the fastest cars all run at the track anymore. no need to play in the streets with the weed whacker patrol.

Theres almost nothing but rice in Philly anymore... Ive spent alot of time over there in the "racing scene" (if you can even call it that). All the big dogs are very low key and only go out on the street when the race is going to happen... then they go back to where every they were hanging out.

Cops are all over the races in Philly. You even get ticketed for watching the races now

Philly is a thing of the past!! The track is where it's at now because all the ricers blew up all of the good spots...

In the eighties It was easy to pick a race just by hanging out in the Somerville Mall. Locally Findern Ave late at night or Cottentail Lane In Somerset. There were places all over North Jersey and the Section of 78 that was on finished earlier on. Working for Trans End we did custom rear a transmission work on serious Street Racers from NY and Philly. The cars would come in with the Hoods Chained shut so we could not tell anyone what they had. Today as most have stated the imports have brought too much attention, The tracks have stepped up with the street nights to keep things safe. If you can lighten your car te even up the game you can still have fun with the imports and maybe make some cash.

About 2 years ago I went to philly a couple times and there was hardly anything good. I'm friends with a guy who has one of the fastest cars that used to go there, and from what he tells me, all the big cars set it up, race, then leave.

I'm not even going to attmept to street race, its hard enough for me to get traction when driving normally in this cold weather. But when I'm driving around in my '86 Accord with 356,000 miles and I pull up to a new mustang or vette I do wish I was driving the Z28 becasue I would give them a run.

The good stuff always show up when your not in your good car! It happens to me all the time

The ricers still do it up North. The new thing is Highway pulls.

Last street race i went to in philly was in 2002 when there was still some decent cars there. Last year i took my old 95 Z28 there which was bone stock and didnt lose a single run. In simple terms its pathetic. Other than that its not worth it anymore, too many risks now a days, and you really can't trust the guy next to you. Maybe its my age speaking, but street racing lost its luster.

Retired......atleast that's what someone keeps telling me lol. I just keep it at the track anymore. I can't roll around on anything less than a full slick anymore since the 4400 stall went in.

Those civics are tough man. There are tough to beat when they get tuned with the computer and stuff. I had one at the track fly by me really good, and he looked all normal and stuff but when the light went green i couldnt get past him.

I'll race you, I really dont race on the street anymore cause the uniform guys are always on my case cause i got a fast car and they dont seem to like the fact that im racing on the street a lot. I did like 120 on a side street once and had to find a parking lot to hide in so they wouldnt take my license from me and throw me in jail. They know my car so i gotta keep it hidden at my home when its light out. At night is all cool so name the place and stuff, preferably near here so I dont have to take my car on the highway too much.

EDITS: you also reminded me that we need to race soon cause its still cold out and my car gets the bests power when its cold. This on time it was like 127* degrees in the shade and i was driving and raced this eclipse and had the ac on cause it was hot ... Good thing it was a older eclipse cause i barely beat him, i think it was a spider or something.

and he was like "your cars slow" and i yelled that my car is not slow but he didnt hear it cause he had the loud radio going and i dont have that on mine cuase it was all stolen and stuff but i dont care anymore because it was havy and weighded me down. so now im not scared cause my cars lighter.
