Moser 9" my wheel studs twisted!

Anyone else have this problem? I have a moser 9" with maybe 1000 miles on it.

I had ordered the Grade 8, 1/2-20 2.5" long wheel studs with it. they come pre pressed in.

The driver side is twisted to the point where to put the wheel on u have to twist it as u put it on...

Passenger side didn't twist as bad or noticeably.

Just got ARP 1/2-20 3.5 " long studs going to hopefully put them in this week.

Anyone who has done this recently ? obviously have to pull the axles, do I have to press the bearing off the axle or can I sneak them in and out ?

What kind of lugs are you running? I've twisted a couple sets of studs...

I twisted the studs that came with the s60 rear using conical lugs and did it again even when I upgraded to 1/2 studs. I've never had an issue with shanks so far but the latest ARP studs seem to be doing the job.

I have a pack of what they call extended conical lugs which folks have said work better than their standard counterpart. Essentially there is an extended shank like nose on the lug going towards the wheel hub. Billet Specialities makes them.

Also, ditch the crappy washers included with the weld lugs. Mine totally deformed after a few uses.

Ahh ok. Check them after a few uses. I'll take a pic of the ones I had on the car. Pretty comical how badly they deformed.
