Power Slots Hawk ceramic combo!
Well I just tonight after work changed my front rotors and pads with power slots and Hawk ceramic pads.Everything went well, and i believe my "brake-in" period went very well (The slotted rotors contain specific brake-in instructions on how to brake-in the new rotors)I will keep everyone posted how they "hold up" ..feel and if there is any brake dust ....I have a good feeling this is a Great Combo!

yeah the stock rotors on 4th gen's suck...mine warped at 25k miles on my 94 formula and was actually one of the first "mods" i did on my 98 Z.

ALLMACK, you will be very happy with that combo. I put the same set up on a friends Firehawk. And she has nothing but great things to say about them.

I was actually looking at this exact combo for my car along with a line lock too. Where did you purchase your set from?

there is a cheaper and just as effective combo from irotors.com. just ask them for the LS1tech GP price on the rotor/street pad combo and you'll be better off. the powerslots are great and i used to run them and they were excellent but the pads wore off really quickly and i just couldnt afford to keep buying this setup and thats why im now gonna switch to the irotors setup.
ps- pads and rotors for all 4 corners on the irotors setup is ~420

I got mine from tirerack.com my company gets a discount from them and also i can set up a will call to save on frieght ($91.00 rotors, 68.00 ceramic hawks)

I remember looking for info from irotors, but they didn't have any contact info on their site at the time, and I couldn't find any decent reviews from anyone that used them. Seemed like a shoddy e-bay dealer at the time.
Has this changed?

wow 420 that alot , go to www.WS6store.com they sell "rotorworks" drilled/slotted rotors for $179.99 and hawk pads pretty cheap prolly like another $120. i got this setup about 3k miles ago and they are wonderfull. the rotors are very nice zinc plated so theres no rust and the pads dont get barely any dust on my rims and what does show up comes off super easy. ive had numerous hard ass stops on them and they havent warped even when people smoke there tires infront of me i dont even come close these things stop me on a dime i love it

not sure about the ws6store rotors but i have heard great things about them... the only thing i like about the irotors setup is supposedly they use brembo blanks... actually come to think about that im not even 100% sure about that

If you want stock rotors to last torque them to spec. I have no issues anymore.

if you know how to drive and you allow cool down time on your rotors after you beat on them you will be fine. but who the hell does that?

Yea, the front rotors on my Lumina last longer without warping now that I remember not to zing the lugs back on with Dad's 1,000 ft-lb IR impact....

I TQ my wheels everytime they come off. now I cannot get the damn things to stop warping. Is is about the 3rd time I've turned these damn things. Next I am gonna stop pissing around and just buy either the powerslots, or the ones from the WS6store.

Did you mic them? Maybe they are worn out. Once they get too thin, they warp easier. Also, check the function of your rear brakes. If rears are not up to snuff, the fronts take a bigger beating.
