Back from the track (9/4/04)
I went to Raceway Park today...not a bad day!
here's my 1st run of the day. I took out all of the seats, plus the spare and jack, and ran on slightly more than a 1/4 tank of gas. it weighed 3492, about 10 lbs. off of what i calculated:
R/T .351
60' 2.131
330 6.344
1/8 9.848
1/8 MPH 70.32
1000 12.889
1/4 15.489
1/4 MPH 86.48
for some reason, my best run is the 1st one each time out. i started laughing hysterically when i saw the 15.489, i didn't think i was gonna run that fast at all. my 2nd run:
R/T .266
60' 2.217
330 6.431
1/8 9.943
1/8 MPH 70.13
1000 12.992
1/4 15.602
1/4 MPH 86.17
ehh not too great, still an improvement over last weekend though. 3rd run:
R/T .213
60' 2.133
330 6.336
1/8 9.847
1/8 MPH 70.15
1000 12.897
1/4 15.504
1/4 MPH 86.31
not bad, this time was more what i was expecting for the day. like i said, i didn't expect to run in the 15.4's. 4th and final run:
R/T .400
60' 2.236
330 6.440
1/8 9.952
1/8 MPH 69.96
1000 13.001
1/4 15.609
1/4 MPH 86.28
ehhh...again, not bad, but still needs work. i spun off the line, if i had gotten traction i'd have run quicker.
Temps were in the low 80s, don't know humidity or barometer. my car's temps were never over 190 degrees, usually in the 170-185 range. it seems to run better around 180ish.

for a little comparison, here's my best run from last weekend:
R/T .686
60' 2.173
330 6.470
1/8 10.066
1/8 MPH 68.45
1000 13.175
1/4 15.837
1/4 MPH 84.45
and the best one from today:
R/T .351 (-.335)
60' 2.131 (-.042)
330 6.344 (-.126)
1/8 9.848 (-.218)
1/8 MPH 70.32 (+1.87 MPH)
1000 12.889 (-.286)
1/4 15.489 (-.348)
1/4 MPH 86.48 (+2.03 MPH)
3 1/2 tenths off and 2 MPH more, just from removing the seats and running on a 1/4 tank of gas. that's awesome.

Keep in mind that's while learning how to shift the car again (60+ runs with the 3.23's, so he's used to slower shift points), and in crappy air....my mph was down 1.7 from stock, and i was running about .15 seconds slower than normal.
