Ls1 Trouble Code

P0175 P0172 System too rich in banks one and two but i looked it up and it says they usually come on at the same time. I know it is sent from the oxygen sensors and i always get codes for them anyways seeing as how i have longtubes. Should i be worried about this?

i'd check the wiring to make sure you didn't burn the wires on the long tubes. i thought the common thing with long tubes was slow responding/switching 02's. not positive.

Could be a vacuum leak somewhere letting in extra air so it keeps adding fuel. Did you put in new O2 sensors when you did the headers? Best bet is to scan it too look at all the readings to see if it shows it getting richer.

no wires burnt and no leaks anywhere. probably a dirty maf or something or just my stupid o2's. It doesnt really effect drivability so i dont think im gonna worry about it

Too rich means it dumping fuel in for some reason....so if you don't spend whatever money it's gonna take to fix it correctly now, you'll spend it every time you get gas from now until you do decide to get it fixed.

If you want to bring it over and scan it just let me know. Running too rich is not a good thing. Did it trigger the light under normal cruise conditions or under hard acceleration?

im not really sure. I reset the code and it took about 20-25 miles of driving for it to come on again. I may just take you up again on that offer to scan it lol.

a lot of places say it is the maf is dirty or faulty so im going to take mine out and clean it with some brake cleaner

Use electronic parts cleaner or there is a specific MAF cleaner but it's probably electronic parts cleaner re-labeled for the auto parts stores.

used maf cleaner. Ripped apart the MAF and replaced it. No more codes

  • Collapsed air intake duct.
  • The air filter element for being restricted. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement .
  • MAF sensor for being installed in the proper direction and for foreign objects blocking the inlet screen. Refer to MAF Sensor Replacement .
  • For fuel in the pressure regulator line. Refer to Fuel System Diagnosis .
  • Inspect for the incorrect MAP/BARO display. Compare to another vehicle.
  • For excessive fuel in the crankcase. Change oil as necessary.

-Cleaned the MAF
-Replaced the right side Oxygen sensor after Jeff scanned it said it was dead

Code came back on and its really frustrating. >_<

Any other codes along with the rich codes? I can scan it again if you want to make sure the new O2 sensor is working properly.
