Tires

will 29" tires fit under a 4th gen? and will 28s grow enough to allow me to trap higher then 126 with 4.30 gears? i went to a tire calculator and it doesnt compensate for tire growth but my speedometer read 105 when i trapped at 116 so i know they get taller

you plan on spraying? A 28 inch tire just fits a 4th gen fbody wheel well. What if you go with a 4.11 gear and a 27" tire? I've seen that combo work very well. What kinda rpms are you turning? As far as your speedo being off, if you speedo is calibrated for stock sized tires (25") its gonna be off weather the tire grows or not since your on 27's.

It's calibrated for 3.73s and a 27" tire. 4.30s ans 27s are ideal for na passes (121mph at 6500rpms) and I'll be able to hit it harder off the line because of the larger tires

i know my speedometer is dead on and it reads that im going through the traps at 105 then im trapping at 116, idk if thats because theyre growing or because GM sucks lol

I went down in tire size from a 27 to a 26 and the car 60'd alot better. Too much tire with a stick car could make you bog big time. My first pass with my 27's I almost shut the car off when I came off the clutch.

right but your on 4.10s, 4.30s with a 27 should be almost exactly the same as 4.10s on a 26, theyll just hook better

I dont have 4.10, I went with a 3.89. so I'm alomst in the same boat as you with the gear and tire setup. I should have gone up more on the gear but since I drive the car so much i decided to go with a 3.89
