Oil Pressure Question

OK this has happend twice now, when my car is stop and go traffic for an extended period of time (so far stop and go through center philly, and the DMV line) my oil pressure drops to zero and my check gauges light comes on. Now i put my car into neutral or park and the pressure kicks back up, also the pressure kicks back up when i give her some gas. She also drives find and seems to be getting enough oil, anybody else experience this or have an idea of whats going on?

How many miles on it? LT1 all have low oil pressure, 10-15 at idle is common, but zero isn't good. could just be the sending unit? they are about $30 new. You might also think about change to a heavier oil 10-30. And I'm also not a big fan or Penzoil or Quakerstate, to me they seem to thin out more. I put Penzoil in my truck ( 5.3 LS1 ) and heard allot more piston slap at start up, I'm running Castrol in it now and it's better.

Never over 12 at full throttle? Wow, it should be over 40. If your oil level is good, it might be a spun bearing.

188K, oil pump is gone. 150K is about the average lifespan.

High flow oil pump, new pan, new pick up, poly trans mounts, and 3.73 gear swap

So they determined that the stock pump was bad?

Hopefully that low pressure didn't allow any excessive bearing wear or damage....
