Slowfast v2

So I took my formula to atco and I'm not impressed with my car or driving. I know i need plugs and wires but that's the only excuse for this b.s. Here's my only 2 passes of the 3 hours we were there...

60 2.432. 2.607
330 6.314. 6.507
1/8 9.537 9.644
Mph 77.67 78
1000 12.193 12.291
1/4 14.425 14.475
Mph 101.50 104.33

I am having shifting issues. Very hard 1-2 shift, first pass I grinded and every other shift it's hard to get into gear. Second pass the car felt amazing except I had the clutch do something funny on me which almost felt like the clutch was being sucked to the floor. I thought this pass was a lot faster, sotp felt 10x better.

Tire pressure was 35 on khumo's what should I try? First run I went off idle, Second run I dragged the clutch at 3500.

Damn that 60ft is horrible. That tire pressure is WAY high too. Just for comparison my car ran a 13.5 only trapping 102 with a still not so great 2.10 60ft. Your mph is there for low 13s...

Btw after reading again, check your clutch hydraulics and master cylinder. That is most likely your problem...

What tire pressure should I run on street tires? I figure I should be at or under a 13.4 with a 2.0 sixty and faster shifting. Good advice mike, always so helpful.

104mph should run a 12.74 ideally.

step 1) buy sticky tires
step 2) learn to drive it better.

Just ordered a tick master, and slp line lock. Sticky tires will be after I order my rear in a few days. Just need to figure out what exactly I need to order.

street tires work better with normal pressure, they arent designed to be run on lower pressures.

I'd get the trans issues fixed first before you go throw money at a rear.

Haha. You should watch what you put in your posts when you are trying to sell your car.

Haha , the car is no longer for sale, 2 weeks are up. Would you take a car to the track that you have listed? Didn't think so.

Either s60 or 9 inch. I just wanna upgrade the ds, so the s60 is in the picture. I just want abs, and a posi since the car is never going to be that serious. Maybe a 228 cam eventually since I want to dd this and pick up a camaro for another toy after the 84 is fixed..

Good call. Besides, I think I enjoyed my car more when it was just a bolt on car. I drove it more, it had less problems, and was much more enjoyable to cruise around in. The internet deceives people into thinking everyone should have a race car.

Rant over.

Ok, last part of my rant: I feel the thread should have been named Wayslow v2. I'm just being annoying at this point. I'm sorry.

I feel you, right now I still have the cobalt I split seat time with usually drive that to school but its going to rain tonight and I have no fear of driving it in the rain which is awesome since the 84 doesn't even have wipers. Eventually ill get some Dr's but on 16 inch wheels. I was debating on if I was ordering ccw classics or a rear, but depending on the tick install that money might go to a stage 2 trans and a good clutch.

You have good taste. Classics are my dream wheels.

Definitely beef up the drivetrain first. I had a year to year and a half period where EVERYTHING on my car went wrong. It was beyond frustrating. Save yourself from that frustration and do things right. If I correctly recall, I had to rebuild my engine, trans, rear and needed a new clutch all within that period. I hated my car then. But its been quite solid since, and its such a relief. It's nice to be able to just drive, and not worry.

In his defense, it sounds like you said 7psi total, not lower. Thus, it sounded like a sarcastic remark. At least thats what I thought.

As far as taste, its going to look like dopefedz on tech, with 18's and either the flat hood or mecham hood.

If my motor pops its getting a mild head and cammed(228 or under) lq or a procharged 5.3.. it defends on my cash situation, since my mustang down payment $ is almost depleted..

Well, the plus side is that you will still be without a car payment. That's really the win in this situation. I guess though if you have big aspirations for when the motor pops, perhaps thats all the more reason to beef up the drivetrain. Good luck man. Tweaking these cars can be heaps of fun, and terribly irritating.

Even though you plan on changing the clutch master, i would spend the time to take a look at the clutch itself. It wouldnt hurt. And at that time also put in a new slave and add a remote bleeder line.

I spoke with ssp and we decided to go that route. Just trying to figure out what clutch to order, monster stage 1 or ls7, leaning on monster but only if I can get a deal from a sponsor on tech..I just missed out on the kit for $550...

Edit.

What is a normal trap speed for an ls1 with a lid? Really tempted to try it with a full tank of gas and no lift shifting before I put my Longtubes on and get a tune...
