Estimated Track Time

Alright guys heres the deal...
I have a 1992 Z28 305tpi auto car that ive had for 8 years now. I never once have taken it to the track. I have ran autox a few times. I have a full exhaust, no cat, built trans with kevlar bands and vette servo, 1800 stall, msd 6al ign with blaster coil and cap and rotor and wires. I have no back seat and two racing seats, no spare tire or jack. gutted air box with k&n filters. umi panhard bar, umi lcas, umi sfc, umi wonder bar, umi stb. b&m mega shifter. Im running 285 75 17 nitto nt555 tires at probably 25psi. fiberglass cowl hood. afpr. 19lb svo injectors. no smog. optima blue top. ls1 aluminum driveshaft. 3.23 9 bolt posi disk rear. I am probably forgetting a few things here and there.

What do you think my car is capable of?

14.90's, just wondering why you mentioned the 1800 stall converter, might as well be stock, you need atleast a 2600-3000

Well Im sort of kicking myself in the rear for that. When I had the trans built I got a new tc and I should have gone to like a 2600.

Just as a comparison my 87 has some similar mods and I ran a 15.4. It is a carbureted 305, 700r4 (has some work done to it), 2800 stall, shorty headers with full exhaust (with cat), 3.23 9 bolt, Spohn suspension and stock size Radial TAs. It is also full weight, i have not removed any weight like you have.

Didnt the 92 TPI cars make pretty good power from the factory? If I remember correctly a 350 TPI in 92 made 245hp and a 305TPI in 92 made 225hp bone stock.

With your mods I would look for mid to high 14's.

the 350 TPI cars were rated 245/345 and good for mid-high 14s stock. 305 TPI was rated 205/285 and was a 15 second car

Some of the 305 tpi cars i've seen over the years did pretty well. Can't see why it wouldn't run mid to high 14's if the engine is in decent shape

No, I think it was actually more like 225/290. Worked a double last night and didn't get much sleep today...

only the later t5 305 tpi cars made the 225 hp rating. autos were less.

My V6 firebird stock ran a 15.4 @ 91 mph. That was 200hp and 225ftlbs. I would say high 14's stock and with his bolt ons mid to low 14's if the car is running right @ 96mph..
