Trans: Rebuild or Buy

Hey all, yes I found out what's wrong with my trans, seems as though the clutches have welded together and it's requiring a rebuild. Now, should I either rebuild or buy another trans. I'm very tight on money. Two shops want 900+ to rebuild, autozone i can get oem clutches for 260, but then have to find someone to install'em. Or i can find a stock 4l60e for <$400 and use it in the mean time. Also some friends said go and do a T56 swap, but i'm very hesitent to even consider this lol.

What do you guys think?

Did you take the trans back to the shop that built it? Did they not offer any kind of warranty?

Well I purchased the trans off a member on ls1tech and i contacted the shop that built it via the number on the paperwork i received, they said no warranty though because it's no longer in the original owner's hands and it has been more than 30 days due to it being a race-built trans, so it's totally up to me now.
