Ray from Central Jersey

I've been into cars ever since I was little. After 1 1/2 year at my first job, I got my first car, a 1996 M6 Z28. I loved that car, and told myself I'd keep it forever...until I decided I wanted an LS car. My original plan was to sell the '96, and purchase an LS car, but one thing led to another and I purchased a 1998 A4 Z28. It took me around a month to sell the '96..never heard the end of it from my mom about having 2 camaros + a jimmy at the house lol. A few days after I bought the '98, my uncle took me to see a friend of his car. It was a 2001 SS that was MINT. He was asking $9,000 at the time and I felt like I'd never have that much money in time. I tried for it anyway. I sold the '98 to a father/son that drove 14 hours from Birmingham, Alabama lol. Low and behold..this past Saturday I purchased the car! The previous owner couldn't have been a better person to deal with! He was very anal about taking care of the car and I am too. Him and his wife were surprised to find out that I was only 19 (I look older), but we both agreed that the car is going to a very good home. He very politely, followed me back to my house in Matawan to drop the car off, and went on his way!

2001 SLP Stage 1 Camaro SS #2236

Fred/Michael, if either of you see this I am LOVING the car! Thanks so much!

Thanks every one for the warm welcome! Matt, yes I plan on keeping this one for more than a few months. I'm keeping this one forever lol. I plan on getting LT's for the car and calling it a wrap as far as performance. I don't want to race this car. As far as everything else goes, I plan on doing tints, CME, white LED courtesy lights, and an auxiliary plug-in for the stock HU.

And YES, I can't wait till we get some consistent nice weather and can schedule meets.

PS Anybody who's got a decent camera and wants to do some photoshoots with both of our cars get in touch with me! I've been dying to get some good shots of it!

Thanks again everyone. Not to sound like a dick, but I'm VERY proud of myself for being only 19 and having paid for this in CASH by myself. No loans, no "I'll get it to you next week." ********. I hate to sound like an old man, but most kids my age blow through paychecks like nothing. I'm glad to see mine go towards something that matters .

Ah dude I'm all for it! I'll never be one of those people that don't want pictures with other cars because "mine looks better." I might not get any pictures with other cars. Lol kidding man, if you're down I'd love to get some shots of the 2 of our cars though!

Wow, just realized you've had the car for less than a week! How many tanks of fuel have you burned since then LOL.

Dude, awesome car! That's crazy you've had three Camaros already. I can relate to the parental frustration at having a lot of cars - for a little while I had both my Camaros and my old SUV at my parents' house, and they weren't thrilled about it. I got my own place now though, and am down to 2. I'll probably sell my first Camaro at some point, though not quite yet.

Thanks guys! Yeah I suppose 3 camaros by the age of 19 is a bit excessive to most, but I look at the first 2 as intermediate cars while I was saving for the keeper lol. I plan on keeping this SS for a long time. The only reason I would sell this SS is if I could find a white C6Z that was cared for the same way this SS was.

It kills me to see guys/girls my age that are given fast/sharp cars from their parents and they trash them within a year. Whenever the subject of cars came up my dad always said... "If you're serious about this I want to see you work for it!" I'm glad it was that way. As anal as I am about vehicles, I know that if I was given something it wouldn't mean as much to me.
