Fire Extinguisher Mounting

For those that have one in their drag cars, how did you mount it?

And what size do you have?

Jeep guys love them on the roll bars. 5lb at least, maybe 2, mounted in your immediate area so as you flee the vehicle you are able to grab it quickly.

5lb would be great when it comes to ever needing it. But huge in the car. Seems like most roll bar mount ones are 2.5 lbs

I have mine mounted on the rollbar tube that runs fro the main hoop to the trans tunnel, so right behind the drivers seat so I can get to it quickly. 2.5lbs.

Yeah, from reading through various threads throughout the jeep years, the 2.5's aren't going to save much. Its better than nothing but chances are its going to run out and flare up again.

If you are at the track, fluids leaking/spraying or the fire is being fed is some other way it is more about buying time until the heavy equipment gets there than actually putting the fire completely out on your own.

Ya I wouldn't get a roll bar specific especially since you don't have one. Fires can happen anywhere, I'd rather have a 5 and a chance than an empty 2.5 and a charred car.

Just mount it well. That thing can be a world of hurt if you get in an accident.
