Angry When azzclowns don't do their jobs...

My lazy azz garbage men come on Sats and Weds, and the job has gotten so lazy for them that it now consists of one guy driving the truck, and a robot arm to dump the can. Well, the f'n robot arm doesn't tell any one if the can wasn't completely emptied...and it turns out my can was packed to the rafters, because I did a buncha cleanup around my yard this week. So, the robot put the can up, but since it was so packed full hardly anything came out, so the can was put back full. I went to move it back from the curb to my house, and I was like "WTF?" And I had more garbage to throw out today, so now I have no place to put it. Nothing like paying a good price for a service and geting that service done in a ****** manner. I wish those loads came at the same time for pick up each week, 'cause I feel like waiting for 'em and letting 'em have a nice pie hole pop off!

Call the company and b**** for all you're worth. I pay for my garbage pickup also and that definitely wouldn't fly with me either.

UBG, you should have my guys. My garbage guys are part time detectives. They like to go through my garbage and make sure that every shread of newspaper is seperated. On bulk garbage day, everything has to be cut into bite sized pieces or they wont take it.
They inspect every bag of garbage, and leave what doesnt belong.

Lots of us have to pay for garbage pick up. Pay AND only have it picked up once a week in THEIR designated recepticle.

Been living with it so long I don't complain about it anymore. I'm well trained.

My taxes pay for twice a week regular garbage pickup, once a week "large" garbage pickup, and recycling every other week.

Nope. I have it pretty good in Raritan.

Recycling every other Monday
Trash every Tuesday
Bulk Pickup (huge stuff, basically damn near anything. Mattresses, appliances, whatever) the 2nd Thursday of each month
Street Sweeping the second week of each month
Leaf pickup every day during the fall

No extra $ for anything.

Ok, then, Hillsborough FTL! We gotta pay extra for everything. Then again, thats what happens when MSN Money rates Hillsborough as the 23rd best place to live... in the Nation. All that ego goes to the politicians head, and wham... higher taxes and greater costs.

Sucks.

am I the only one who has to take their trash to the dump? Every Tuesday and Saturday its open 8am-4pm. I take whatever I want on those days, but I usually just go Saturdays and its been like every other for the past few months. It was a pain in the ass at the beginning, but im just used to it now. The reason why they dont do it here is because most people dont live right on the road and the houses are so spread apart it would take forever and just be more of a pain in the ass....

Yup. I live in Wantage, almost as far north and west in NJ as you can get. Now, I own (Well, I think of it as renting it from the bank for thirty years, really) two acres of land. My taxes are low because we do not have a municipal police department (NJSP), our public works department is responsible for parks, town roads and snow removal, our firefighters and first aid squad are volunteer. There is no city water (Have our own wells and septic tanks). And we don't have public garbage pickup. Our two options are:

A. Load your trash into a trailer, truck or car and take it to the dump yourself. Not a bad idea, but the county dump is ten miles away, so I don't relish the idea of weekly or biweekly trips there. I could easily see garbage piling up if I don't stay on top of it, and I don't like that at all (Not in bear country!).

B. Pay for private garbage pickup. It's only a few hundred dollars a year, and generally, I haven't had a problem yet. They've taken everything I've left at the curb without question.

It's not all that bad, really. I think of it as taxes aside from my mortgage.

a lot of places have to pay for their garbage pick up. like me. I'm in NY but still. my taxes are low . it works like this , the more taxes you pay , the more you get. we don't have central sewer system either i pay like 2000 dollars a year for 1400 square foot ranch on 1/3 acre. my private carrier isn't to bad . he's a one man band too and he'll jerk the arm pretty hard to empty the can. they'll take an extra can too if i leave it out(we use a special can thats provided by the carting people thats pretty large)

Well I can't speak for every town on garbage pickup, but every town in Mercer County gets recycling pickup once every other week (and county-provided buckets for said recycling).

Either way, Ewing FTW!
