EFI Shootout at E-town on Sat. 8/28

Anyone else besides me going? I want to see a 14.x with my car. Last year with the same setup in my old SS I ran a 15.0 @ 93 mph with a wheel-hopping/spinning 2.6 60' time. Hopefully I can knock the short time down, shift quickly, and see a 14.7 or so out of my 'lil 305.

Sounds good, if anyone else is going, just look me. I'm the little guy with the white SS and powdercoated TPI setup under the hood.

I went....ran a 15.83 @ 84.45 MPH. 2.175 60' time. not bad for my first time out at the track. I also won my first bracket race! i dialed in a 15.80, and the guy i went against dialed in a 14.10. I ran a 15.904 to the other guy's 14.510, so i won my first round. I went up against James (12second V6) in the 2nd round, he dialed in a 14.42. I ran 15.976 to his 14.524. he beat me by 7 hundredths of a second! i had a great time, i hope i can go back down again soon.

Nice runs! I ran a couple 15.3s @ 90 mph, and a 15.4. I also had two bad runs. My hands were so sweaty I missed third gear; slipped right off the shifter knob! My 60's are getting better, got them down to 2.3's today. It's tough launching with the 5-speed.

It was so dead down there, I coulda made 10 passes today and not been hassled at all.

congrats on the times guys and the round win. james is a tough racer,he has won a bunch of brackets before.
the turn out for those events has been steadily falling off for a while. dunno why, it started out as a huge deal when they had the first one.

I just ran Time Trials yesterday, because my driving isn't consistent enough yet. My car is a bright white '88 Monte SS with a silver powder-coated TPI setup and a 5-speed manual tranny, and 17" SLP wheels. I did get two runs in against my friend Jason in his blue '91 Z28, so maybe you saw one of those races.

I was parked in the pit area near where the Turbo Buicks were; my Monte, a guy named Tom with a TPI'd blue '86 Cutlass, and Jason's 3rd Gen were all together. We were the 305 Squad.

That's the one. It also had the super-cool Lightning Rod shifters.
