Anybody have an OBDI reader I can borrow?
I dont know what's going on with my 95 TA LT1 but its running a bit odd and I need to check codes but don't have an OBDI reader. If someone has one I could borrow for just a couple hours it'd be greatly appreciated
When the engine is cold its nice and powerful. It breaks the tires loose pretty easily.
But the problem is when it heats up and gets to closed loop, it will lag in power and even on WOT from a stop it wont break loose. It just seems weaker when passing and general driving. It also seems to hesitate as well. But at idle however the exhaust smells a bit gassy and it doesn't seems to be as loud as it used to be. I also idles kinda rough
Maybe the coil is going south? opti? The opti is stock so any suggestions? Engine is stock
Thanks a bunch.

Sorry, I don't have the cable that works with the 95's.
My first guess would be the o2's. When cold the ECM doesn't use them. 2nd guess EGR sticking. Fairly common problem, but that should throw a code.
Ruff idle, when was the last tune up? Plugs, wires, PCV???

My first OBDI reader was a paper clip & the blinking light.

Didn't say the car was throwig codes, I think what he is looking for is Autotrap or Scanmaster to data log the car.
Something like weak O2's or Map that are on their way out. Not bad enough for it to throw a code, so the ECM adjusting for it somewhat but that the car isn't running 100%
Bonzo,, Paper clips trick only worked until 1993.
