Tire Sizes

hola amigos! im going to go with 16x8 chrome irocs in the front and the back will be 17x8 chrome irocs, but i want to have wider tires, will 17x9 tires fit on these? i know absolutely nothing about tires. and if you could tell me the number of these i would greatly appreciate it. i mean number as in p245 50r ( i know thats not the number just example)

ya im pretty shure you should be fine with the 9" in place of the 8" but im not positive.

The tire manufacturer will tell you what rim sizes are safe to mount their tires on.

A 275/40/17 will fit on a 9" rim and is the same height as the 245/50/16 (no pseedo issues). I don't know about clearence on a 3rd gen. Or maybe 255/45R17, which is a hair taller and will also fit on a 9" rim.

It will fit on a 17X8, as long as you are not using like a Drag radial. Yes it will fit, but I would not take any sharp turns with it. on my SS i had the 315 35 17 Nitto Dr's on stock ZR1 17x9's. And cornering was not the great thing in the world.
