HELP!!!! CAR RUNS LIKE CRAP!

ok heres the skinny: i was doing stereo work to my car so i disconnected the battery negative so i dont kill myself and when i was all done i reconnected the battery negative. when i connected it the terminal sparked like hell but i connected it anyway and when i started my car back up it backfired to hell and hasnt run right since. it idles real low and feels a little hesitant. the engine also makes a wierd kinda knocking noise now. any help would be appreciated cause i was supposed to run down at atco tommorow for my first time.[/img]

nevermind. i disconnected the battery and tried it again and let it idle for a couple minutes and its running fine now. damn that car is running rich!

Really lean will make an engine misfire and run ruff... raw gas gets dumped out the exhaust when the spark can't light the mixture... are you SURE it's rich?
Why is it like this? I think you're in diare need for a tune or some diagnostics work to figure out why the car isn't running right with the BLM's (long term corrections) at default. How's the car running in open loop in general (cold starts)?

Jake, that car isnt running rich Ive been around it while its running and it is fine. Next time i see the car ill double check for ya though.

thanks prevost. your response confuses me but i will get all this straightened out when i get tuned next year or so. you dont do ls1s i hear so i'm gonna have to drive down by bill and let him do it for me. its a shame cause your right around the corner from me i believe. but thanks for the insight though

Prevost could probably tune you just fine...he'd just have to borrow my stuff...not sure how much he would charge in turn though lol
