2nd gen rear view mirror mounting ideas?

My 70 has the original rear view mirror which is mounted to the windshield and is a small ball mount. The connector that goes to the mount and the ball end on the mirror is so bent it won't hold the mirror tight. It's a 2 piece clam shell type connector and I doubt it will bend back easily. I'd rather try and find a ceiling mount style mirror setup that will stay nice and tight. It's too danger driving around without a working rear view mirror. Looking for any ideas or pictures of 2nd gen ceiling mount mirrors.

My buddy in Cali put a 'NASCAR' style LONG mirror in his 1st gen. Looked pretty good too. It was like 4 or 5 sections staggered like steps. Kept you from getting curved glass.

can you just loosen the set screw and remove the whole mirror assembly and put a new on one? Actually, it might even be a tab that you push to release the mirror(some are). If the button that is glued to the window is OK, all you have to do is replace the mirror. right?

Yup, it's for sale. But I still need a rear view mirror for driving it. I ended up buying a repro 69 style mirror and it screws right into the hole for the sun visor support so no holes drilled. This way I was able to leave the original mount on the windshield too. I'm trying to straighten the original mirror supports by sitting them in a vise for the last 3 weeks!
