PROMS

So, since Im not the ODBI type, and have absolutely zero knowledge on car computers, how do I tune the PROM? Im pretty sure that its one reason why the timing is off and the speedometer doesnt work. The car has a new VSS... and I checked to see if 2 other clusters worked, and they didnt. So its not the speedometer gauge itself. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, if anybody has knowledge, can they do some tuning? Ill pay of course. And this is for an 88 WS6 LB9

is the speedo the only gauge not working?
check to see if the wiring coming out of the VSS is corroded or broken. it is exposed to the elements and could just be a little beat.

later

That would be affirmative. I checked all the wiring and the VSS itself, and the VSS is brand spanking new. No rust, still shiny silver. The connections are good too. Like Ive said, Ive tried a couple whole clusters and the speedometer still doesnt work. This and a steering wheel is the only thing holding me off the road with this car.

*EDIT*
BTW, the entire engine was a swap. And the recent owner (tastyle88) said it couldve been just a swap of PROMs with no tuning at all. Even with the new MAF the engine is still a little off timing, with a few sputters and engine shakes at first start up.
