easiest way to fill a 10 bolt?
I have to pop the cover off and check up on it... but when I put it back on, my question is what is the easiest way to fill the rear while its on the car? It annoys me greastly how the had to put the fill plug right below a metal tab and not let you just pour the bottle in... what's the easiest way? Flex funnel, or will that still have to stick straight into it due to the crappy fill design? Jerry rig some contraption? or is there something I'm just toally not thinking of. Thanks.

Don't they make a contraption/pump thing that can go into the drain plug?

jack up car, let rear hang down, use the little filling cap that usually comes on the gear fluid bottles...thats it... to drain with a stock cover, unbolt the cover.

Quart and a half IIRC
Paul I dunno what youre doing but on the past two rears I had, the only way you can get that bottle tip in if if the bottle is sideways... and then you have nothing going in. That's why I asked this... Ian told me in an IM tho, take some vacuum hose or something that'll fit over that cap, put the other end in the rear, and fill. Should be much much easier.

when i did the rear in my 94 z28, i filled it that way. Yes you get the bottle sideways, well slightly higher by a bit, then you squeeze it. That worked for me.

Yea, I've always done the same thing.
Tsar - general rule of thumb is 1.5 qts....most people just fill until the level is at the bottom of the fill hole.

if you have a posi, use the GM posi addative. its like 8 bucks from the dealer for a little bottle. Squirt that in first, then fill the fluid till it overflows out the fill tube....
