Window Motor replacement

anyone here replace the window motors in our cars? my drivers is dead, window all way up. how should i get it to go down to relieve tension on the spring and go pickup a new motor?

basically hold it up with a C-clamp and you can pull it out

poipped off the door panel and stuff and there werent any rivets the motor was previously replaced so it was just nuts/bolts and swapped'em

I always do it with the window in the half postion it relieves all of the tension on the spring.

spring wasn't a problem for me. i kept the window all way up and stuck a C clamp to lightly hold it up, then i drilled a holve overtop each of the bolts(stock are rivets) to hold the motor to the track, then just removed the motor through the speaker hole.
