15" ProStars with LT1 calipers require grinding?

Anybody running this setup in the rear and still had to grind your calipers?

I switched over to LT1 calipers on my LS1 Camaro just so I didn't have to grind but surprisingly I'll still have to grind a little bit. I didn't think I'd need to but I don't want to run a spacer on the rears so it look like I don't have a choice. Just curious if others had the same issue.

had to grind a little to get them on my LT1. Not as much as I had to on the LS1 though

I switched over on my 98 from the LS1 rear brakes to the LT1 rear brakes when I had the Prostars on my car. I had to grind off the fins that are on the LT1 calipers and still had to run a spacer. You would be better off grinding down you LS1 brakes. They are better and with the LT1 brakes I had to rerun the Brake lines and e-brake setup because they were different. Kind of a pain in the ass.

yeah, if I had to do it all over again, i'd never have bothered switching to the LT1 setup. Had to switch the ebrake assembly as you said, plus the brackets to hold them, etc. Lots of customization and now the ABS doesn't work because the sensor isn't long enough with the LT1 plate to read the reluctor ring. Bought some LT1 sensors but they didn't make a difference. What a headache. Like I said, I'd never recommend the swap to anyone but i'm in too deep now.

What I finally did wasI found a set of LS1 calipers on LS1 tech that were already ground down to fit the Prostars for the rear. I purchased them and switched back to the LS1 brakes on my V6. I picked up wheel adapters for the skinnies up front which bolted right on and thats how I got the front to work.

I just put 15x3.5/15x10in prostars on my 96 T/A two days ago. It was kind of a pita. I am running 5/16 spacers in the front and had to do no grinding what so ever. (yes i pulled the rims back off after a test drive to confirm that they were not rubbing.) Now for the rear, this is the fun part. I picked up the rims with 295/50/15 goodyear street tires already mounted. In order to fit the wheels the bump stops had to be removed. Not just unbolted i mean completely cut off the chassis. Next I had to "massage" the inner fender well with a BFH to clear the tires. Then came the caliper grinding. Its kind of hard to describe how much to take off and exactly where. But if i had to sum it up i would say to grind the front fins down to almost nothing. By front i mean the fins closest to you if your sitting next to the wheel well. This took the most time, not because of the grinding but the test fitting. You cant just sit the rim on the lugs and spin the rim. You actually have to put a few lug nuts on and tighten it down. After you do this 4/5 times you'll be pretty annoyed.

Yep, this is just another confirmation of the headache I've had with the swap to LT1 calipers. I don't mind a little grinding but losing my ABS thanks to the differing components has been a big headache.
