Thumbs up Anybody know of a good shop to get a rollcage done?

Greetings,
I want to redo the interior in my AMX, which means I'll prolly be ripping my rollcage out and having it redone. I was never really all that happy w/ the way it was fabbed to begin with, so does anybody know of any shops that do a good job and don't rush things? Oh yeah, the closer to Central NJ the better.
Thanx,
-u b

neverylift racecraft is in north jersey, around carteret i believe. leo barnaby, the owner, puts out only the highest quality work. it does cost a pretty penny. but you will have the best fitting and finished roll bar available anywhere.
check them out http://www.neverliftracecraft.com

Wildrides is definetly on par with Leo when it comes to roll cages, and i think you'll find my work to be on par as well.

Here's some of my work,
The driver of this mustang was a pretty tall guy, so the goal was an extremely tight fitting cage.

And of course my own ride:

As well as a host of other cars.

good stuff BMF.
i like leo's work because i know him personally and i have seen his work "tested" before with no side effects. it also puts my mind at ease a bit when a guy is willing to go mid/hi 6's in a car that he and the same crew that will be working on my car built.
wild rides does beautiful work for about the same price as neverlift. last i heard they had a very long waiting list though.
there is also a place in delaware, rhodes i think it is called. it is where ProjectZ28 got his cage done a few years ago. great work, jsut took a while to get it done.

Thanks Bob,
What kind of cage are you looking to have done? What material?
As you may have noticed i only TIG weld bars and cages, no mig, even if i'm using mid steel.
I "may" mig weld floor plates in, as usually that will cut down the time involved in floor plate fabrication.

I'm very skeptical about a Pre-notched kit, is this something you own already?

I'd imagine the wolfe kit is probably an excellent peice, however i seriously doubt the notches would require no additional fitting.

You could speak with my boss about a price quote, i would expect it to be pretty reasonable considering.

If this was a kit already tacked up, with floor plates tacked in i would consider doing the finish welding in my shop. If that is a route you are interested in taking. With strickly finish welding i would charge $400.

Bob, Half scale dragsters in P-burg will probably do it for you. Their welder is a good friend and the owner used to be partners in Pro Start Engineering. I know Randy from his days at Durnheims in Raritan when I worked for Southside Auto. I will make the call for you if you give me details. One of my Cars used to belong to Sal who works thers. The welds are outstanding othe r than wher I moved a few bars to install a four link. My Tig Welds are good but not show quality.
