4.10 gears?

Looking for someone running 4.10's on the street. I presently have a strange rear with 3.42's. The 3.42's were ok but I recently increased rear tires from 26 to 28 inches, so it slowed my acceleration down. I would need to install 3.73's to get me back to where I was with the 26 inch tires, so I figured why not just go to the 4.10's I always heard they were noisy though. Any thoughts or advice?

Depends on how you mostly use your car. I had 4.10's in my '94, and even though it wasn't a daily driver the 4.10's were a little annoying on the highway, lots of RPM and some noise, too. Made longer road trips more of a chore than they needed to be. I've got 3.42's in my '98 and it seems to be the sweet spot, or at least close enough. With a 28 inch tires, if the use is mostly street driving, I'd say 3.73 unless it's a track toy and doesn't see much highway, then go for the 4.10.
